114: Behind the Scenes of My Multi-Five Figure Beta Course Launch (that Sold Out in Less Than An Hour!) Apr 20, 2021
    Show notes

It’s time for a launch recap! Woot woot! And, the title says it all… I’m recapping my Booked Out Designer course launch that sold out in an hour. I love these types of episodes, and I’ve done a few for template launches, but this is my first course EVER! So it’s fun to talk about launching from a different angle and for a product that is a cart open/cart close model.

I’m sharing the nitty gritty details of this launch including what I did leading up to it, what worked, what didn’t go so well, what I’ll change next time, and what the results have been. I’m so obsessed with this course and my amazing students. And even as I record this a month after the launch, I’m still blown away by how cool this whole experience was!

Other episodes to check out that relate back to this one:

    - Episode #110 - Basically the “prequel” to this one. I talk about why I chose to do a beta launch and how to know if that’s the right launch method for you.

    - Episode #77 - This is when I first announced that this course was coming! My original “plans” changed a lot, so it’s fun to listen back to that one and see what *actually* happened versus what I planned.

    - Episode #36 - This is where I talk about my FIRST ever launch that was a total flop and what I learned from it!

    - Episode #64 - A recap of my 2020 template launch that happened during the global pandemic

110: Should You Beta Test Your Course? (How I Had a Successful Beta Launch that Sold Out in an HOUR!) Mar 23, 2021
    Show notes

Let’s talk about beta testing an offer — what that means, pros and cons, and why I didn’t want to do it, but did… and how it was the best decision I could have made for my business.

If you missed it, I launched my new course for designers, Booked Out Designer, at the end of February. It sold out within an hour and a half. And filled half way within 10 minutes! Like WHAT?! This was a beta launch… and one that was absolutely not on my agenda. I wanted to make the course, then sell it — in that exact order.

If you launch anything in your business ever or are working on creating a new offer right now… you’ll want to tune in here! I think there’s a lot you can learn from my experience!

This episode is super conversational and jam packed with tips for launching and creating new offers, and I’m so excited to share what I’ve been learning with you!

Some takeaways you’ll get from this episode:

    - What even is beta launching? How does it work?

    - The 3 main reasons I was AGAINST beta launching this offer

    - How I reframed that mindset with help from a mentor and friend

    - What my original plan was with the course creation process and why it wasn’t working for me (a.k.a. I was very stuck)

    - How the beta launch went and how working on the course content has been since

    - 5 reasons you should consider a beta launch (from a girl who said she’d never do it)

Episode #77 (not #40 like I say in the audio) of this podcast was my FIRST “course creation” update episode. It’s been a while since I shared any updates… because… I was very stuck. If you want to go back to get a full picture of this journey, definitely head back to episode #77 after this one!

108: How to Legally Own Your Brand Using Trademarks with Joey Vitale and Elizabeth McCravy Mar 09, 2021
    Show notes

Do you understand how trademarks relate to your online business? I totally didn’t, to be honest, and that’s why I wanted to have Joey on the podcast to educate ME and all of YOU! Now, trademarks might not seem like the most “exciting” topic, but it is so important to the health of your business. And, I seriously believe knowledge is power. Even just learning about and exploring this topic can be so beneficial!

Joey is a trademark lawyer for online business owners, so he really GETS this space! He has helped tons of online entrepreneurs and course creators understand just how important trademarking really is and call legal dibs on their brands and signature methods.

In this episode, we explore what trademarks are and how they apply to your business. We talk about things like:

    - What even IS a trademark?

    - How is a trademark different from copyrights?

    - What can we trademark? What can’t we?

    - Could our competitors cut in and trademark something we use in our businesses?

    - How much does it cost to get something trademarked?

    - What are some common mistakes people make with trademarks?

And, we talk about some of the horror stories Joey has seen when people didn’t trademark. This was SHOCKING to me!
