Jeana Keough (on RHOC Past, Present, Future & Being The OG Of The OC)! Dec 17, 2021

Show notes

With the return of RHOC, we figured it was time to revisit this chat with the Original OG of the OC, Miss Jeana Keough. Fun fact - this made our annual 2020 End of The Year List for last year. Can you tell if it was on our “BEST OF” or “WORST OF” llist? DM us with comments after you listen! Is everyone loving the return of the OC this season? Has Fancy Pants Dubrow single-handedly saved the franchise or do you think otherwise?

The other OG of the OC, Jeana Keough, steps Behind The Rope. Stepping out from behind the gates of Coto de Caza, Gina is here to talk about what "The Housewives" was like back in the day, Season One, Episode One Of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Gina was there when it all started with Vicki, Jo, Lauri, and Kimberly. Gina talks about what the casting and filming process was like during the hey day of Bravo and just how much it has changed in present day. We discuss some of her other co-stars during her five year tenure as a RHOC cast member: Tamra Judge, Lynne Curtin, Gretchen Rossi and Tammy Knickerbocker. We also discuss the current cast who Gina also knows well: Kelly Dodd, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson. We discuss that “other” housewife, or should we say “househusband”, Slade Smiley and check in on Gina’s family Kara, Shane and Colton following the passing of Dad Matt earlier this year. Finally, we discuss BravoCon, that infamous OG Panel, and her new friend to come out of it all, Adrienne Maloof. Nostalgia at its best!

The Real World LA's Beth S. (on the Original, New "Homecoming", Erika Jayne, RHOBH & Becoming a RHOC)! Dec 16, 2021

Show notes

Beth Stolarczyk steps Behind The Rope. The Real World: Los Angeles’ Beth that is. Beth chats about what it was like almost three decades ago to have been part of the second installment in the Granddaddy of Reality TV, The Real World. Beth chats about how the LA season invented many things we have now come to take as gospel in Reality TV - the confessional, the reality pet and the first ever person, David Edwards, to be “kicked off” a reality show. Beth chats about the David / Tami drama, her use of the word “rape”, why she was the room mate her cast mates, and America, just “loved to hate” and how this would all hold up now, three decades later. On that note, after the juggernaut success of Paramount Plus' New York installment last year, The Real World Homecoming: Los Angeles has arrived, reuniting Beth with her former house mates in the same Venice Beach House. Streaming now! Beth chats about how this experience was different, the drama we can expect as the season progresses and just how much Reality TV has changed. Being a huge Bravo fan, Beth chats Housewives, the Real World inspired Summer House and Winter House, Bravo real world alum Cameran Eubanks (RW New Orleans and Southern Charm Shout Out), Erika Jayne, Jen Shah and much more as we Mention It All!

Jason Oppenheim (on Selling Sunset, Chrishell, Christine, Office Politics & Spinoffs!) Dec 10, 2021

Show notes

Selling Sunset Season Four! We have waited patiently and then waited some more. Finally, one of the best reality shows to ever exist has returned! Today we revisit a chat we had last year with the man himself, Mr. Jason Oppenheim. Back before Chrishell, we chat with a very single Jason. How quickly things change.

Jason Oppenheim Steps Behind The Rope. Jason fills us in on the current state of he market in Los Angeles before diving into the hottest show of the moment, Selling Sunset. Jason discuss his reservations before signing on to the show, what finally changed his mind and getting used to the presence of cameras in the office and while doing deals. Jason also chats about the effect Selling Sunset has had on both his professional as well as his personal life. We discuss the Oppenheim Group office drama and what Jason thinks of the womens' disputes on and off camera. Of course we asked Jason for his opinions on all of his employees Heather, Maya, Amanza, Davina, Chrishell, Christine and last but certainly not least, Mary. Speaking of Mary, Jason explains how he and Mary first met and whether he truly favors her, which seems to be the consensus amongst the other agents. Jason tells us about the one time he showed a house to Ariana Grande and what transpired between the two. He also answers one of life's most pressing questions, will he ever settle down? On a personal note, we also had to pay homage to the king, Executive Producer of Selling Sunset Adam DiVello, thank you 100 times over also for The Hills and Laguna Beach.

NICK LACHEY & 98 DEGREES (on 90s Fashion, Reality TV, & New Music/Tour!) Dec 09, 2021

Show notes

Nick Lachey and the boys from 98 Degrees, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre step Behind The Rope. Having sold over ten million records worldwide, topping the Billboard Hot 100 with eight singles including the Number One hit with Mariah Carey, “Thank God I Found You”, 98 Degrees reflects back on the highs and lows of a stellar career that seems hotter than ever these days. That’s correct, Nick and the boys have brand new music in the form of the single “Where Do You Want To Go” which they will continue to perform on live dates throughout the rest of 2021. 98 Degrees chat about the inevitable comparisons to the other chart topping bands at the time NSYNC, NKOTB, BSB and B2M. The boys pay homage to their many side projects none the least of which was Newlyweds, the Reality Show of global international success and many viral moments of epic proportion. We pick Nick’s brain on what Hollywood Couple he thinks is prime for a Modern Day Newlyweds and the answer is not what you would expect. Calling MTV! The 98 side projects also include the family affair that was Dancing With The Stars. Sorry Nick, and Vanessa (Lachey), we will have to give it to Drew on this one. #mirrorballchamp #dwtsseasontwo We chat with 98 about dream collabs, meeting Michael Jackson, opening for Janet Jackson, Nick’s current Fox show “Alter Ego”, what their millions of adoring fans can expect from their mostly sold out year end live shows, and when can we expect more new follow up music to the brilliant “Where Do You Want To Go”. Of course before we let the boys go we had to pay homage to those brilliant, never to be forgotten 90s fashions.

Introducing: Harsh Reality Dec 07, 2021

Show notes

It was supposed to be a reality show with a twist. In a sun-drenched villa in Ibiza, six hot guys compete for a cash prize and for the love of the beautiful and mysterious Miriam. It’s meant to be her big break: the moment she becomes the superstar she was born to be. But this is the era of “cruel reality TV” and the show producers have a different goal: they want to surprise the men with the fact that Miriam is trans. A new six-episode investigative series from Wondery, the makers of The Shrink Next Door and The Apology Line, and from Novel, HARSH REALITY is the story about love, lies, reality TV and a woman before her time: Miriam Rivera. Written by Agnes Borinsky and hosted by Trace Lysette.
