GABRIELLE CARTERIS (on 90210!!!, Her Co-Stars, BH90210 & Another Reboot?) Dec 02, 2021

Show notes

90210’s Gabrielle Carteris steps Behind The Rope. Yes, Andrea Zuckerman is here!!! Ok, ok, we DO know the difference between Gabrielle Carteris and Andrea Zuckerman. Gabrielle is here to chat about her full career and the role she is most iconically known for in 90210. Gabrielle talks about what the audition process was like, how she got the role and what it was like being on a hit Aaron Spelling teen nighttime soap. We talk what it was like to fake her age of 21 to get the job and to play a 15 year old teenager when she was 29 years old. We chat about her costars - no last names needed - Shannen, Tori, Jennie, Brian, Jason, Luke, and Ian and all those rumors from back in the day on set - the “red dress” catfight, the BTS hook ups, and, of course, Shannen Doherty and her “bad girl” reputation. We talk about Shannen’s exit, her replacement Tiffani Thiessen, guests stars such as Oscar Winner Hillary Swank, her pregnancy being written into the show, and her exit at the end of Season Five. Flash forward, and Gabrielle talks about what being the President of SAG-AFTRA (and now first American President of FIA) was like, her many celebrity run-ins / colleagues, and backstage shenanigans from the esteemed SAG Awards. As busy a job as that is, Gabrielle found herself moonlighting in 2019 when Tori and Jennie came a callin’ for the reboot, BH90210, when the entire original cast signed on to play heightened versions of themselves. Gabrielle opens up about that bittersweet reunion due to Luke Perry’s passing as well as how hard it is to watch friends go through tough times - “True Tori”, Shannen’s current health, and so on. Finally, we reflect back on 90210 and its blockbuster cultural effect that we are still, and will forever be talking about, all these years later.

Charli Burnett (on Vanderpump Rules, LVP, Lala/Rand Update, OG's & Pasta) Dec 01, 2021

Show notes

Charli Burnett steps Behind The Rope. Vanderpump Rules, Season Nine. Charli chats all about the new season of Pump Rules - how it was different for her, filming without OG’s Stassi, Jax and Kristen, being the only one in the group whose significant other isn’t a regular part of the show, and her ever changing relationships with cast mates. She weighs in on some of life’s most pressing questions - the validity of “share plate” charges, Schwartz & Sandy’s, Raquel Leviss’ statement that Katie Maloney is bored in life, the necessity of an engagement ring from Tiffany’s, the fact that Summer Moon has more IG followers than all of us, working at SUR for Lisa Vanderpump and much more. Charli shares an update on Lala Kent and Randall Emmett’s relationship that has been the subject of much tabloid fodder over the past few weeks. Charli opens up about her food issues, as seen this season on VPR, her decision to show her vulnerable side on Bravo and how the public and her cast mates have reacted. Of course, last but certainly not least, we had to ask if she has, in fact, now still never eaten pasta.

CAROLE RADZIWILL (on RHONY, Andy Cohen, Bethenny Frankel, Her Exit, & Not Ever Using a Ghostwriter!) - II Nov 29, 2021

Show notes

In a rare Podcast appearance, Carole Radziwill steps BACK Behind The Rope. After a brief chat with Carole about her career as a journalist, producer (3 Emmy wins) & NYT Best Selling author (shout out to "What Remains: A memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love”), we get into what y’all wanna chat about, The Real Housewives of New York City. Carole chats about her six year run on RHONY - the highs / lows, cast mates who have come and gone (Lu, Ramona, Dorinda, the Tins, Aviva & Much More), Adam!, and, if you have’t heard, the fact that she has never used, is not currently using and will never use a ghostwriter (shout out to "The Widow’s Guide to Sex & Dating”). Carole talks about one of the most shocking reunion moments ever - telling Andy Cohen he is full of sh*t and clarifies the truth behind her RHONY exit putting to bed once and for all whether it had anything to do with that reunion moment, her much publicized fall out and demise of her friendship with Bethenny Frankel or plethora of receipts of who said what, when and to whom she sent to production on the reg. We chat about whether Bethenny really is Andy’s “favorite”, what she got special treatment during her RHONY career and whether she should return to RHONY as cast or producer to fix the ratings slump. Carole chats about changes she would make to RHONY to increase ratings, who she would let go, bring back from the past, and whether serious topics like race and politics belong on TV. After all, she was ahead of her time with her very own political story line. Of course, we can’t help but ask if those suggested changes would involve her ever coming back. Listen to find out this plus a whole lot more rumors and myths clarified and set straight by the one and only Carole Radziwill, a guest that we have been chasing, stalking, and charming for quite a while to make an appearance here Behind The Rope! As they say, all good things come to those who wait. This is Part 2 of the epic Carole Radziwill chat you have all been asking for!!!

Peggy Sulahian (on RHOC Past, Present & Future) Nov 26, 2021

Show notes

In honor of the return of The Real Housewives of Orange County this coming Wednesday, we wanted to highlight this past chat with Bravo’s 100th Housewife, Peggy Sulahian. With the launch of RHUGT a huge success, what do y’all think of a “One Season Wonder” Housewives show? We chat about what would you do and just how different would it be if you were given a second chance? Something interesting to ponder as you listen in….

A few months after The Real Housewives of Orange County finale, with production on the new season halted until further notice (thank you Corona), David checks in with the 100th Housewife, RHOC's Peggy Sulahian. From her early days in the OC, to her car loving husband Diko (Peggy is a Ferrari girl), to her double mastectomy, learn more about the real woman behind the facade of what the audience saw on Bravo. Of course, the conversation quickly turns to all things RHOC. Casting, production, filming, the epic Iceland vacation, nothing is off limits in this sit down with Peggy (she really is good at speaking her mind, people). As far as fellow cast mates go, there is the good (Vicki, Lydia), the not so good (everyone else?) and then there is that time Peggy physically closed Meghan King Edmonds' mouth because, well, she was talking too much. Grab your oranges and listen in!!

Introducing: The Shrink Next Door Nov 24, 2021

From Wondery, the company behind Dirty John and Dr. Death, and Bloomberg, “The Shrink Next Door” is a story about power, control and turning to the wrong person for help for three decades. Written and hosted by Joe Nocera, a columnist for Bloomberg. The Shrink Next Door is now an Apple Original series, starring Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd. Watch now only on Apple TV+.
