    Authentic

G’day, I’m Kat John, authenticity coach, author, keynote speaker and everyday human. This podcast is where we tell the truth. No highlight reels, no love and light spritzing, no pretending. Just real conversations about what it actually takes to live aligned with who you are beneath the roles, patterns, and conditioning.

I teach this work because I live this work. Together, we explore the ongoing dance between your ego self and your true self in relationships, money, work, family, and the everyday moments that shape a well-lived life.

Expect grounded guidance, raw reflections, and conversations that don’t shy away from the messy middle. This is a space to get honest, take responsibility, and come home to yourself, one real step at a time.

New episodes drop weekly on Mondays. Listen wherever you get your podcasts.
And if it lands, a rating or review genuinely helps this work reach the people who need it.

Let's Keep Our Heads In Check During The Corona Virus Disruption Mar 16, 2020
    Show notes

Right now our freedom to go out without second thought, shop with an abundance of food on our shelves, see our friends and fam, go to concerts, shows, travel, run businesses, etc is being disrupted. And I’m hearing noise that we’re fkd off about that!

Just remember that each of us have a part to play in slowing down this virus so it doesn’t overrun our healthcare system and medical professionals. Humans feel threatened when something is being taken away from us and right now it’s our freedom to do as we please and live our lives as normal. —But right now we could do with a tad more gratitude and reflect on all the times we had full shelves of food, to have the choice to do as we please, that business ran seamlessly to keep us fed, clothed and entertained.

We need to do our part to slow this fkr down whilst keeping the spirit of humanity alive by keeping our heads in check and focused on what matters, eg, keeping yourself and others safe through hygiene measures and distancing when required to help out our medical systems.

This shall pass but we all have our outer and inner work to do during this time.

Keep Your Emotions In Check Mar 02, 2020
    Show notes

Yeowsa, this is good in theory but way more difficult to practice in the moment when you have emotional charge running through your veins, causing you to feel like sh!t, alone, disconnected or victimised by life. Throughout our days people, situations, conversations, etc are potential triggers that activate egoic stories and beliefs that warp reality. Once reality is warped, it's like you're under a spell and can't control your actions, behaviours or responses and risk saying something you don't mean, or pulling away and hiding from life. Developing emotional maturity begins in the mind, becoming superconscious of your unconscious programming when situations take place that are fairly neutral, but your ego feels attacked. In today's episode I share with you one of my simple yet powerful ego clearing processes to keep my emotions in check, which means I am the master of my actions, and therefore my reality.

    A Story About Hope Feb 24, 2020
    Show notes

Steve said to me this week, "I'd like to take over your podcast this week and share a story about hope." That's all he said to me and I replied, "okay, sure!" Feeling apprehensive and also a little (don't you fk with my podcast man) we recorded today's episode with him leading it. Little did I know what was about to come but you can bet your bottom dollar I cried.

    Meditate, Mate Feb 17, 2020
    Show notes

I'd be screwed without meditation. It is my go-to tool to pick up the imaginary phone and directly dial my higher self, for guidance and answers to serve me and my world. In the beginning I was scared to meditate, knowing I would get answers to help better me and my life. It meant I had the choice to change and advance beyond my bullsh!t, so my ego had me focusing on how boring it is, or how time wasting it is, or how sh!t I am at meditation (cheers ego). But with perseverance I developed a new relationship with it, and that was when I go inside, I get the answers I am seeking. And as a result I started to trust my inner voice, my intuition which grew self-trust, self confidence and the belief I can change the trajectory of my life, anytime.

In this episode I give you a taste of meditation. I hope you enjoy.

You Don't Have To Go Through Pain To Grow Feb 10, 2020
    Show notes

I believed for a long time that in order for me to grow spiritually, I needed something drastic like a car accident to happen so I could experience a near death experience. I know I know, not something I'm proud to admit, but it's true, I believed that. A friend said to me, "don't you think you can evolve spiritually without going through all of that?" It was like someone slapped me across the face and I woke up to a life-long belief that in order to grow, I must go through pain.

    Creating A Sh!t Reality Feb 03, 2020
    Show notes

I contributed to such shit energy this week in our home. For one and a half days my mind was so constricted with its viewpoint on being a step-mum and getting back into the swing of coaching, events and collaborations. My self talk was poor and the result were poor. I needed to sit myself down, have a hard chat and ask better questions of myself.

Why First Dates And Relationships Fk Up Jan 27, 2020
    Show notes

Oh the days of pretending I had my shit together on first dates. I would put on any act I thought I had to in order to be chosen by the person in front of me. Thinking back to the dates is cringe worthy because my behaviour driven by insecurity and the deep belief that I didn't belong. So at the cost of my soul, I did anything I could to belong which only left me, you guessed it, alone.

    Money Struggle Jan 20, 2020
    Show notes

So many times I wanted to call it quits when starting out in my business. I was working hard for the money and the return was way less than the tiring hustle I was putting in. Steve took one look at what I was putting energy into - ineffective work, that was driven by a very limiting belief that women can't make money.

Wake Up The Leader In You Jan 13, 2020
    Show notes

Waking up from ignorance is an ugly process and I'm experiencing it right now. It feels like The Truth is staring you right in the eye, grabbing you by the throat and you're standing there in shock feeling all the feels that have been buried by ignorance. This is a natural part of waking up to your power and giving rise to the leader inside you. Sure it's yuck, but it's what must be done to create the change we all truly want to see.
