499: A Sandwich and Some Visitin' Sep 21, 2023

Show notes

Kellie and Allen’s son Dylan turned 11 over the weekend. Dylan got every single thing he asked for, which is how things usually go whether it’s his birthday or not. That’s because Allen always says, “If Kellie says it’s okay ….”
Kellie is hosting friends from SC next month, so Allen is getting the heck out of Dodge. Not only does Kellie have to come up with an itinerary to keep three women entertained — one of whom has never been to Texas — she also has to be a good sport and dress up in a group costume for Halloween.
Kellie’s daddy discovered Temu, which has her a little nervous.
And this is the last episode before our 500th! Celebrate with Kellie and Allen at Lane’s Oak’d Barbecue in Addison, Texas, Sunday, Sept. 24, noon-4pm! Kellie and Allen will be asking listeners to share some of their favorite podcast memories, which will hopefully be lewd-free enough to play on the 500th episode next week.

And learn more about Aaron Rodgers’ personal life than you probably ever cared to know.
Right smack dab in the middle of football on Sunday, Kellie and Allen made a very necessary run to the hardware store.
And we want YOU to be part of our upcoming 500th podcast episode! So join Kellie and Allen at Lane’s Oak’d Barbecue in Addison, Texas, on Sunday, Sept. 24 from noon-4pm, and you may just hear yourself on that 500th show.

497: A Sandwich and Some General Booty Sep 07, 2023

Show notes

You have to forgive Kellie on this podcast. Allen was out of town and the smoke detector went off at 2:30 in the morning and she’s been up ever since.
Allen recaps the story of a tragic flight from Atlanta to Barcelona that had to turn around mid-flight due to an unfortunate case of explosive diarrhea. And THAT led to another Kellie Claps Back!
Kellie and Allen are both excited about football — both college and pro. Allen shared a list of the most unusual names in college football that you won’t believe are real….but they are.
And in what’s become an annual tradition, Kellie and Allen make their predictions for the upcoming Cowboys season. One of them is a lot more optimistic than the other!
And don’t forget to be at Lane’s Oak’d Barbecue in Addison, Texas, on Sunday, Sept. 24, from noon-4pm to celebrate the 500th episode of A Sandwich and Some Lovin’!

496: A Sandwich and Some Armpits Aug 24, 2023

Show notes

Kellie's misophonia rears its ugly head after Allen dares to eat right before they start recording this podcast.
Allen then dives into the listener email inbox. We'll all learn a cool movie theater popcorn butter hack, meet another Black listener of the podcast, hear Kellie answer a love letter about long-distance love AND get a new Love Letter to Kellie jingle! But things come to a screeching halt when Allen's armpits come into play.
Also, get more details about the highly controversial 500th podcast episode celebration at Oak'd Barbecue on Sept. 24, and learn how you can support sending children with life altering conditions to Disney World at kiddskids.org.

495: A Sandwich and Some Oppenheimer Aug 17, 2023

Show notes

It’s only been in theaters for well over a month, but Kellie and Allen finally got around to seeing “Oppenheimer.” If you want to hear what two cranky senior citizens sound like going to a movie theater these days, this is the podcast for you. And you’ll also hear their review of the movie!
Allen is still basking in the afterglow of Sturgis and shares some of the most semi- to downright lewd things he saw. He also posted a top 10 list of reasons to be with a biker, which Kellie re-posted and completely ooged out her daughter. Allen has Kellie read it, which she does as quickly as she can power through it.
And we have a save the date for the upcoming celebration of the 500th episode of A Sandwich and Some Lovin’!

493: A Sandwich and Some TOMI JEAN! Jul 27, 2023

Show notes

Kellie and her best friend since fifth grade Tomi Jean are in Florida for the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show (*nationally syndicated) Family Vacation. So Kellie gave Allen the week off to hang out with their boys, and Tomi Jean graciously agreed to join Kellie as a guest on this week’s podcast.
This isn’t Tomi Jean’s first time on the podcast, but thanks to Kellie not being in control of the audio, this time, you’ll actually be able to HEAR her! And you’ll end up loving her just as much as everybody else does from the minute they meet her.

492: A Sandwich and Some Mystery Murders Jul 20, 2023

Show notes

The podcast almost gets derailed REAL early when Allen tries to mess with Kellie’s knee. SHE DOES NOT LIKE THAT. But that leads to a story about Kellie’s Aunt Lacey, whom Allen insists doesn’t exist.
Allen’s Bucket List for 2023 included taking Dylan on a guided fishing trip and MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. You’ll get a recap of their overnight adventure, which included a rare occurrence of Dylan hearing the word no.
It was a shocking story — a young woman pulls over to check on a toddler walking alone down the highway only to be abducted. A couple days later, she showed up at her parents’ doorstep and now police believe it was all a hoax.
Since Dylan asked for an aquarium, the drama hasn’t ended. There have been multiple fish deaths in a very short amount of time, and it looks like we can finally point the claw at the murderer.
Find out why a stuffed octopus is causing a huge rift in Kellie and Allen’s marriage. And Allen shares another entry in his ever-growing collection of Kellie Claps Back.

491: A Sandwich and Some Fabiola! Jul 13, 2023

Show notes

After some hopefully stimulating orthodontia talk — is there REALLY a difference between pulling and extracting a tooth? — Kellie and Allen dive into their trip to Mexico!
When told they had no hotel reservation, do you think A) Allen took complete charge of the situation, or B) Kellie went full-on BOTA with the hotel guy? After that temporary snafu, Kellie and Allen enjoyed Ana and Ryan’s beautiful wedding celebration while celebrating their own 6-year “IRON” anniversary.
After the wedding, Kellie and Allen relocated to their favorite hotel, the Valentin Imperial — where they most DEFINITELY had a reservation — to enjoy a week of seeing old friends and making new ones during the bi-annual Podcast Family Vacation. The marketing department came up with a PFV Bingo Board, and the group actually ticked off a few of the boxes. But it was Allen’s encounter with the lovely Fabiola that he will never forget!
Finally, Kellie and Allen answer the burning question on the minds of everyone who listened to the previous podcast by giving an honest lube review.

490: A Sandwich and Some Gallon-Sized Lube Jun 29, 2023

Show notes

Kellie and Allen are heading to Mexico for the Podcast Family Vacation 3.0! While there, Kellie and Allen will not only celebrate their friends’ wedding, they’ll also celebrate their 6th wedding anniversary. Kellie has tried to set Allen up for anniversary success, but she’s also packing a few extra special things, just to make sure.
It’s been a while since Allen checked the inbox, and when he did, he discovered a massive pile of listener emails. Kellie answers questions about everything from Real Housewives to IVF and, yes, there’s even a letter for Allen to answer, too.
Allen brings another Kellie Claps Back. While it didn’t seem to be that big of a deal in the moment, the more Allen thought about it, he realized that this may be the biggest Kellie Claps Back of all time.
