    Yoga Strong

To be “Yoga Strong” is to pay attention to not only your body, but how you navigate being human. While combining strength and grace creates a powerful flow-based yoga practice, it is the practice of paying attention in the same ways off-the-mat that can be equally impactful.

This podcast is a guide for yoga teachers, practitioners and people trying to craft a life they’re proud AF about. This is about owning your voice. This is about curiosity, bravery, sensuality, and building a home in yourself.

134 - Have the Audacity to Do It with Shelby Tagge Nov 18, 2021
    Show notes

I have always been fascinated by dancers—their ownership and embodiment of emotion through movement, how they meld strength and control to create gracefulness. In a way, yoga is how I found dance and the freedom to move in my own body, which always felt so tall, so lean, so stiff.

I brought Shelby Tagge on today because I wanted to get to know Shelby, the person, not just Shelby, the brand. Shelby speaks so clearly and deliberately, it’s the way she shares reflects her openness and feelings of enough-ness. She puts it this way: nobody cares about you, or anybody other than themselves, and that’s a good thing. Use this to your advantage. Do whatever you want to do, be whatever you want to be. Have the audacity.

Our breath is vital. It is power, it is medicine, it is life. When our lives start to take different paths than we had once planned, the one thing we have control over is our breath.

Audrey O’Brien is burning down illusions and restructuring what it means to be in relationship with others. She is operating out of abundance and enhancing spiritual connection through the power of conscious breath. It is our most undervalued resource.

132 - This Is An Adventure with Really Real Mama Amber Albin Nov 04, 2021
    Show notes

Showing up authentically in this life for our kids, our friends, owning our bodies, and being women in charge of shit… fuck, it’s a lot. It takes so much courage and it’s terrifying at times. But instead of being afraid, what if we viewed it as an adventure?

We spent this episode talking about what it’s like to be a leader, to show up authentically, finding yourself first so you can better serve your kids, Mormonism and sex, and asking for help as women who don’t like to ask for help.

Amber is a lot of things—former nurse, current lawyer, author, mother, ex-Mormon— but mostly, she’s just real.

    131 - Steps to Separation Oct 28, 2021
    Show notes

As this month draws to a close, I’ve had some time to contemplate change. October has always been a month of change for me. The world shifts, leaves turn and fall… witnessing these moments of change feels holy to me. In nature, yes, but also in people, in relationships, in thought processes.

October marks the anniversary of my children’s father moving out, so I wanted to have a conversation about the steps to separation, consciously. I’m not an expert, but I do have experience. There is no one “right” way, there are many ways. All are worth celebrating. Here is mine.

129 - You Invite Yourself with Wini Linguvic Oct 14, 2021
    Show notes

As yoga teachers, we believe the art of teaching is how much students are learning. An author, teacher, and mentor, Wini Linguvic has been working in the movement world and taught herself to celebrate the yoga that made her feel better, regardless of her Ashtanga level. It’s this “feeling better” mentality that has set her apart from other teachers as someone who speaks clearly and concisely about finding the yoga practice that is most useful and useable for you. As a mentor to other teachers, this convo is a guide to “draft” off.
