    Yoga Strong

To be “Yoga Strong” is to pay attention to not only your body, but how you navigate being human. While combining strength and grace creates a powerful flow-based yoga practice, it is the practice of paying attention in the same ways off-the-mat that can be equally impactful.

This podcast is a guide for yoga teachers, practitioners and people trying to craft a life they’re proud AF about. This is about owning your voice. This is about curiosity, bravery, sensuality, and building a home in yourself.

144 - Showing Up and Serving Your People Jan 29, 2022
    Show notes

I wanted to share with you something I use—and hopefully you can too—when I’m nervous or unsure about showing up and doing the thing. If you’re wondering how to center yourself and move forward with a solid “Why,” this can help.

Instead of focusing that nervous energy inwards towards yourself, you can flip it outwards and ask yourself what do your people need, and how best to help them.

143 - The Intersection of Work and Play Jan 22, 2022
    Show notes

Look at the places in your life where work and play overlap. Know that everything eventually changes, and that means we don’t have to fear. We can lean in to change. There is no need to fear the work it takes to move—both physically and otherwise. I have big goals, I know you do too. Do not be afraid of the work, my friend.

    142 - Talking Shop: Repeating A Flow Jan 14, 2022
    Show notes

Let’s talk shop, shall we? Should we repeat teaching a flow, and if so, how often? I have personally fallen into the trap of feeling like if I repeat a flow, students will be bored and I won’t provide any use to them. But there is value in repetition, in showing up the same way over and over again, and in paying attention.
So, if yoga is the practice of paying attention… what would repetition allow your students to pay attention to?

141 - Permission to Be A Human with Rocky Heron Jan 06, 2022
    Show notes

These are the conversations that make me feel alive. Rocky Heron has been a guest before, and he will be here in the future.

Rocky shows up very differently online than he used to—more authentically, more openly. Some people are confused, angry, maybe even threatened by it.

It takes a lot of energy to wear a mask all the time, to hide all the different parts of yourself. You have to stop trying to manage others’ perception of you, and to show up bravely as yourself. Give yourself permission to change your mind, to be many things… to be human.

    140 - Letting the Beauty In Dec 30, 2021
    Show notes

We have come to the last episode of the year, and what better time to reflect. When I started this podcast, I had dreamed that this could be a space to have many different types of conversations, to learn and grow along side each other, and to discover yoga in everything we do.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how we might be afraid to do the things we really want to do for fear of looking “dumb” or how others might perceive us. But I want to do the thing that feels magic anyways. To take a pause, and let beauty in—even if I might look silly. I hope we can all find the space to let beauty in.

139 - Raising Intuitive Eaters with Abby Chan Dec 23, 2021
    Show notes

I had Abby Chan on the podcast as a repeat guest this week (check out Episode 119 if you haven’t yet) and I was so excited to really get into the nitty-gritty of intuitive eating—what it is, how to do it, and more importantly, how we teach it to our kids. Our relationship with food can be complicated, but it is critical to develop a healthy mindset surrounding it. Food is energy, it’s fuel. Food is life.

138 - Your Vulva Is Magic with The Vulva Witch Dec 16, 2021
    Show notes

This week I had the pleasure of speaking to the Vulva Witch—otherwise known as Kaylynn Marisol Campbell.

Kaylynn is so many things in this world: a doula, sex educator, photographer, an artist… but mostly, she is someone who invites others to tell and own their stories, to walk with more freedom in this world. There is a serious lack of education, empowerment, and representation for all humans with vulvae. Let’s fix that.

    137 - Power In Permission: Let's Talk About Sex with Taylor-leigh Dec 09, 2021
    Show notes

What if you gave yourself permission to change your mind—even just for a day?

The last time we spoke with Taylor-leigh, she declared herself the horniest person alive. Now, she’s in a much more explorative space with her sexuality. We talk about finding your own erotic blueprint, the masculine and feminine within all of us, an unfortunate bush-trimming incident, and a lot about the power of permission.

When you give yourself permission, you take back your power and your sensuality. You walk taller, you become the sunlight.

This episode is part of a larger series called "Let's Talk About Sex" that I host monthly. These are casual real convos with my friend Taylor-leigh. We share our experiences with sex, sensuality, and relationships hoping that more conversations normalize and may open conversations for others.

136 - Calling Others Into Existence with Logan Martin Dec 02, 2021
    Show notes

Watching people step into their own journeys is something so special and so, so exciting to watch. My guest this week, Logan Martin, is not only stepping in to his own journey, but is a facilitator for others to do the same. Love does not technically “exist”—it is intangible. But love calls something or someone into existence, and that is exactly what Logan is and does.

    135 - Your Joy Is Contagious Nov 25, 2021
    Show notes

I wanted to talk a little about changing, about trying something new, and forcing ourselves in to do the thing... When you can no longer NOT do it, then you will do it. Lean in to trust and abundance and release whatever shame you feel about not doing it, because it will start to eat at you. If you’re wallowing in shame, you’re not going to feel joy—and we need your joy. It is so necessary, and so contagious.
