    Woven

A chef and a theologian step up to the microphone and out flows the Woven podcast. As a former professional chef currently striving to mother as a verb, Rebecca Cochran sees life and faith through the lens of food and community. Rebecca Peet is a theologian, writer and speaker who believes intimacy with Jesus is the cure for what ails you and sees biblical knowledge as not only approachable but essential for the everywoman. With humor and vulnerability, Woven seeks to encourage women to live balanced lives right where they are- in the arms of Jesus.

That would be Christie Cuthbert, in a nutshell. An award winning journalist, Christie is in the process of finishing her first book, "Mom! The "Four" Keeps of Mothering: Keep Relating Aug 06, 2019
    Show notes

This week we start a new series entitled The "Four" Keeps of Mothering. Our four "keeps" are Keep Relating, Keep Laughing, Keep Creating and Keep Caring. To help us kick off this series with Keep Relating, we talk with Jen Babakhan. Jen is the author of Detoured: The Messy, Grace-Filled Journey from Working Professional to Stay-at-Home Mom.

One of the hardest parts of becoming a parent, whether you stay-at-home or work, is learning how to navigate community and finding your "people". We all know we need to keep relating with others even in the midst of the chaos of parenting, but it's not easy. Hopefully, after listening to our discussion with Jen, you will feel more empowered to seek out community whatever that looks like to you. We aren't meant to do this life alone.

Occasionally on Woven, we like to explore topics that are often misunderstood or taboo within the Christian world. Our goal is to help dispel myths, push passed fears and have a thoughtful conversation about these topics. This week we're talking about the practice of yoga. Christine Cown, a certified Holy Yoga instructor, joins us to discuss the history of the practice, why Christians don't need to be scared of yoga and how we can practice Christ-centered yoga. We also explore the topic of experiential worship and how to move from worship that is only in our mind to worship that involves all of us- mind, body, emotions, spirit, etc.
