    Woven

A chef and a theologian step up to the microphone and out flows the Woven podcast. As a former professional chef currently striving to mother as a verb, Rebecca Cochran sees life and faith through the lens of food and community. Rebecca Peet is a theologian, writer and speaker who believes intimacy with Jesus is the cure for what ails you and sees biblical knowledge as not only approachable but essential for the everywoman. With humor and vulnerability, Woven seeks to encourage women to live balanced lives right where they are- in the arms of Jesus.

    Holy Week {Episode 49} Apr 09, 2019
    Show notes

Psalm Sunday to Easter Sunday is the most significant week in the Christian Year. But, in our modern culture the weight of this week often gets lost in everyday business and holiday obligation. On Woven this week, we discuss the significance of Holy Week and ways we can lean into the heaviness and the gravity of the events that took place the last week of Jesus' life.

Freedom! (An Interview with Jennifer Watson) {Episode 48} Mar 26, 2019
    Show notes

We live in a culture that values authenticity and vulnerability, which is wonderful, but what do we do when we start to feel stuck in our mess. How can we move from a victim mentality to breakthrough? How can we live authentic yet free lives? This week we have the pleasure of talking to Jennifer Watson about these very topics and her new book, Freedom: The Gutsy Pursuit of Breakthrough and the Life Beyond It.

Jennifer is in full-time church ministry, blogs regularly at www.jenniferreneewatson.com and co-hosts the More Than Small Talk Podcast with Holly Gerth and Suzie Eller.

Leaving Legalism (An Interview with Kendra Fletcher) {Episode 46} Mar 12, 2019
    Show notes

It's Lent and while we at Woven are big fans of the season, we also recognize that it's easy to get legalistic with our faith during seasons such as these. On today's episode, we talk with Kendra Fletcher, author of Lost and Found: Losing Religion, Finding Grace and Leaving Legalism: Learning to Love God, Others, and Yourself Again, about her family's story of leaving a legalistic religious community, grace and finding freedom. May the rituals of the season draw us closer to the grace of God and away from our desire to check all the right religious boxes. To learn more about Kendra, her books and her ministry head over to www.kendrafletcher.com.

Fun Stuff: Uncluttered with Courtney Ellis {Episode 44} Feb 26, 2019
    Show notes

This week, author and pastor Courtney Ellis joins us to wrap up our Fun Stuff series with an episode about Uncluttering. We can't even really talk about "Fun" without talking about what gets in the way of it, and for many of us it's a lot of small things that add up to busy days and tired souls. On this episode, we discuss uncluttering our possessions, our calendars, and our digital spaces. The approaches we take will look very different for every person, but the end results are the same: peace, increased happiness, and rest. Courtney is funny and candid, and we LOVED having her on! Check out Uncluttered (currently the #1 new release in its category!), and enjoy the The FREE Uncluttered study guide and the first chapter of Uncluttered. Check out her website, Facebook and Twitter, too.
