Things We Love Right Now Feb 20, 2020

We still don't understand why Glossier is not a key sponsor for this podcast. Probably because we keep giving away ads FOR FREE. But seriously, on the list of things we're loving right now: balmdotcom and their lash slick mascara is at the top of our list. From podcasts to road trips to all the things in your house you can still return to Nordstrom and receive store credit. We hope this episode helps you discover new things and in general, will be a good time had by all. Thanks for listening to the show! Why Galentines are Better Than Valentine's Day Tho Feb 13, 2020

Target does not get to decide when my partner spoils me with chocolate and roses. YOU BETTER BELIEVE we will shake our heads if any man spent over $100, or in Tiffany's case, over $10. Yes, of course we like chocolate and roses, but for petes sake, romance isn't about the fluff. It's about the heart. It's about reciprocity and communication. This episode covers romance for those who find themselves in today's dating scene and for those who are married. A little something for errr'body! Enjoy. We mentioned a few resources in this episode: The first is "Boundaries in Dating" by Townsend and Cloud. Why Everyone Has Something to Teach Us Tho Feb 06, 2020
    Show notes

There is no skirting around the fact that those who are teachable and those who see themselves as life-long learners know the key to adulting. The honest truth is that everyone has something to teach us, alright. We can learn from the waiter at PF Changs, a book written 100 years ago, or from two women on a podcast who had no idea they needed to change their oil every 3,000 miles. In this episode, we talk about why choosing to learn what you don't know is necessary to ADULT. It just is. Thanks for listening to the show! Why Relating to the Generations is Adulting Tho Jan 23, 2020
    Show notes

Relating to others (all the others) is a mad important Adulting skill. We are talking top priority, in 2020, and we want to help you do it, STAT. Instead of splintering into factions, we believe the generations are better together. Whatever your age, it's important to respect those who have gone before you and those who are coming behind you, and to offer mutual respect to build a bridge of connectedness. We can forgo what we think we deserve (entitlement) from others and let humility drive us toward one another instead. This is a show to share, dear listener, because we know that you know that we know that relating to all ages and stages is HARD OUT HERE FOR THE HUMANS. So, let's do better together. Why God Does Not Have Enemies Tho Jan 16, 2020
    Show notes

Polarization, villainization, and manipulation. Three big things we are helping you avoid in 2020. With the internet pastoring us due to the hours of our life we give to it, people are becoming increasingly settled in their camps and echo chambers. That leads us to polarizing narratives about others that are at minimum, not helpful, and often harmful. It becomes easy to make villains out of people we don't agree with, or even those who have hurt us, but in the words of Father Greg Boyle, "God doesn't have enemies. God only has children." We have to journey from the opposite ends toward the middle to a common place where we honor the image of God in the people we meet. (And yes, stay safe! Some people cannot be in our lives! They are too toxic!) Manipulation has a place in this too, and while adults may not go full on "mean girl," people who push past boundaries constantly drain us and have a "me first" agenda in everything they do. Their ways need to be recognized and dealt with so we can prioritize life giving relationships. We've got tips and strategies to help you do just that! Dear listener, every week, we create killer (FREE) content for you, and we'd love your support. Take a moment to subscribe to our podcast, and rate it a 5! You'll help others find the show, and you'd bless our little hearts too. Why EQ in the Digital Age is Adulting Tho Jan 09, 2020
    Show notes

Technology is here to stay and it's time for us to thoughtfully consider what we allow to shape our mind, recognize how it affects our interactions with others and establish what kind of boundaries we want to place on our usage to help us relate to one another in meaningful ways. Are our devices taking over our lives? Is there something in between us all the time? Are we being dum dums on the internet? From comments to private messages, people are freer with harsh words, acting as experts in judgment and accusation. We're just wondering where that leaves our real relationships? We want to help you be a person of peace online, in real life, and a person who respects others values and convictions while lovingly standing in our own. We mentioned a few funnies on this episode including Ashley's new hat, from Keke Palmer's website, and this is the video meme you need in your life: https://twitter.com/mattryanx/status/1172208456708886528?s=20 Want to support Why Tho?
