Discussion : Cheyenne and Dianna : Female Representation Aug 23, 2017

Show notes

Today in the Cave, we welcome the amazing co-hosts of the equally amazing Fictional Females podcast. If you're all caught up, you've heard Rich and I mention these ladies during Fan Service as well as when I got to be a guest on their show to talk about my favorite cheerleading Martian, but outside of that Cheyenne and Diana have discussed so many awesome female characters from movies, TV, literature, comics, and so much more. With deep dives into each character's personality, character arc, and place in the larger world of pop culture their show is both insightful and entertaining.

Intel Update 7 Aug 17, 2017

Show notes

Hello Team! Since Rich and Emily record episodes in advance, these quick Intel Updates will serve to let you all know in real time what's happening and what we're working on. These are much more casual than our regular episodes, so expect a little less editing and a little more joking around.

This update talks about the conventions that we have been to and are going to once again, and we talk about the other cool things that the YJFiles has going on. Particularly on our Patreon there will be a ton of free content coming available.

Thank you all, and stay whelmed.

Super Sweethearts : Supermartian Jul 26, 2017

Show notes

Welcome to the Cave, everyone, and welcome also to the first installment of "Super Sweethearts," the series where heroes hold hands and we all know smoochie moments are important. Here, I'll be talking about teen heroes in love and diving into the romantic arcs of the show and what we can learn as creators about portraying relationships in fiction.

Today we'll be talking about the adorable aliens who had a bit of a falling out in season two. SuperMartian! (Or Conner and M'gann for the uninitiated.) And as a quick spoiler warning before we dive in, I will say that I'll be talking about who ends up with who and how we get there, so be prepared for spoilers on that front.

As always, you can get in touch with us on Twitter @the YJfiles, on Facebook @crashingthemode, on our website www.crashingthemode.com, on Tumblr at theyjfiles.tumblr.com, and at our e-mail address whelmedpodcast@gmail.com. Don't forget to #KeepBingingYJ and #BuyYJComicsOnComixology (there are actually some really cute SuperMartian moments in the comics if you want to check them out), and to tune in soon for the next episode of the Young Justice Files. And remember (smoochies moments are important!) and Stay Whelmed!
