Show notes

The guys are all over the road this week as they talk about the road-rage/serial killer thriller Unhinged starring Russell Crowe. Joining them is returning guest Galen Howard, who has lots of theories about a fake mother. The guys discuss the film in-depth and wonder - is Russell Crowe delivering the performance of a lifetime? Is there such thing as TOO MUCH foreshadowing? How much does Galen know about driving etiquette in California? Did that opening credit sequence get lifted from a different movie? What would happen in the sequel? Enjoy!

Stars and Bars (w/Jason MacLeod) Aug 04, 2022

Show notes

This week, a special guest co-host enters the fray and Jason MacLeod stops by to aid in the discussion of a weird 80s comedy starring... Daniel Day-Lewis?! Yep. They discuss the film Stars and Bars, a movie seemingly tailor-made for Hugh Grant years before Hollywood had created Hugh Grant the dopey romantic comedy star. They talk about the lack of jokes (seems to be a theme for these kinds of movies), the harrowing domestic abuse subplot, the hotel canal, the insane dinner table scene and much more.

The Adventures of Pluto Nash Jul 21, 2022

Show notes

Another superhero summer movie... of sorts. This week, the guys wax poetic about the abysmal blockbuster comedy flop The Adventures of Pluto Nash. Why waste $100 million on THIS script!? Was Eddie Murphy napping during the entire production? What was with that sound effect that came on every time Randy Quaid spoke? Why did it seem like the dialogue mostly improvised (and badly at that)? A sexy robot maid? HOW DID THIS COST $100 MILLION!?

The Meteor Man Jul 07, 2022

Show notes

Back to the HOSTS picking the movies, damn it! This week, we start off a very special Super Summer Flopbuster season by talking all about the Robert Townsend superhero flick The Meteor Man. Is this silly superhero movie based in Republican logic? Why does this children's movie have so many drive-by shootings? Are satin baseball jackets and bleach-blonde hair really that scary for a gang? And how does this comedy manage to last 105 minutes with almost no jokes? Plus: it was very hard to find this movie and the guys talk about the shifty "real network" that seems to be the only place in the world that houses the film.
