Holiday Flashback: Surviving Christmas Dec 26, 2019

Show notes

The show is still on vacation until next week so until then, please enjoy a rerun of their discussion regarding the Christmas "classic" - Surviving Christmas. They go into a lot of background on the film like how it was a colossal box office failure when it opened in October (?), Ben Affleck's character being a total psychopath, the movie being comprised of tons of improv but the one great improvisational performer being completely shortchanged, the character of "Dooda," Catherine O'Hara's very complicated character trajectory, the last half-hour of the movie that plays out like a sitcom and much more. Plus: Brendan can NOT tell the difference between Chris Evans and Chris Pine. Next week: A clip of one of our Patreon Exclusive episodes! Show notes

Show notes

Nathan and Brendan welcome their resident extreme sports expert Jerika back to the show to talk all about a movie that was first hyped up more than three years ago on this very program! Christian Slater is a skateboarder that is trying to solve the murder of his adopted brother - what's not to love? Many things are discussed from Slater's tendencies towards sociopathic behaviour, Jerika's obsession with the lead actor going through many different phases, the most hilarious line in all of cinema and of course - just what in the heck does "gleaming the cube" mean? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) (w/Dame Malcolm Wallace) Nov 14, 2019

Show notes

Continuing the (unintentional) theme of franchise reboots that everyone hates, Nathan and Brendan bring back the elegant Dame Malcolm Wallace to talk about the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles disaster. Why are the turtles designed to look like nightmare-inducing beasts? Can Will Arnett single-handedly save a movie that he is only in for about five minutes? And just how in the hell are we meant to believe for ONE SECOND that William Fichtner ISN'T playing the villain? The guys also drop a hint for next week's movie. Terminator Genisys (w/Brent from "Home Video Hustle") Nov 07, 2019

Show notes

With the new Terminator: Dark Fate film opening in theatres nationwide this week, Nathan and Brendan thought it'd be important to revisit the previous entry in the series so everyone can be refreshed before going into the natural conclusion of this story - what's that now? This film is wiped from the canon and doesn't matter at all? Well... dang. Thankfully, the guys have brought back frequent guest Brent Fullen from the Home Video Hustle to help endure the mind-numbing pain that comes with all the fan service, time travel nonsense and EVIL JOHN CONNOR. Plus: Find out how this film would be cast with the nWo playing all the roles. The guys also drop a hint for next week's movie. Check in on our Twitter account on Monday for the reveal!
