Valentine (w/Everything I Learned from Movies) Feb 13, 2020

Show notes

In a very special Valentine's Day episode, the guys are joined by lovebirds Steve and Izzy of Everything I Learned from Movies to talk about... well... Valentine. Yes, it's the wild slasher from 2001 that dares you to genuinely like or feel sympathy for a single person in the film, revels in its "pretty accurate" portrayal of weird art shows, introduces characters in a Hitchcockian manner and features early work by Master Thespian Katherine Heigl. Plus - the ultimate debate: did Dorothy help or did the killer work alone? Let us know if you are #TeamAdam or #DorothyHelped to settle this debate between Brendan and the dinosaur people! The Haunting of Sharon Tate (w/Amanda the Jedi) Jan 30, 2020

Show notes

All good things must come to an end. Or something like that. The finale of Recently Regrettable focuses on quite possibly the most tasteless piece of cinema that Nathan and Brendan (and returning guest Amanda the Jedi) have ever covered on the podcast - The Haunting of Sharon Tate. Yes, it's director Daniel Farrands' "tribute" to the victims of the Manson Family Murders done as a schlocky horror film. You'll hear all about his desperate attempt to reach out to Debra Tate, the god-awful ADR, the acting resembling a high school play, one of the stupidest endings in recent memory and much more. Also: an opinion that will shake the very fabric of this podcast. The guys also drop a hint for next week's movie. Check on Facebook or Twitter on Monday for the reveal! Nathan and Brendan talk about wasting actors in expository roles, creepy cuddling, old laptops and tape recorders, one major plot hole that reveals itself during the final moments of the movie and much more. The guys also drop a hint for next week's movie, which will be the final installment in the "Recently Regrettable" series focusing on the worst of 2019. The Fanatic Jan 16, 2020

Show notes

This week, Nathan and Brendan continue their journey through some of the worst films from 2019 with John Travolta's misguided attempt at an Oscar under the watchful eye of director Fred Durst (yes, he of Limp Bizkit fame) in The Fanatic. The guys talk about John Travolta's British accent, Leah being the ultimate villain, how this film seems to hate every type of viewer and of course the Limp Bizkit scene.
