"When's the last time you smelled it?" - Comedian and Host of "What's With These Homies Talkin' About Weezer" Matt Apodaca joins David/Winston as they provide a whole new sauerkraut menu for him. For a round of Hot Tastes, David thinks that a restaurant should be obligated to tell you about a regular patron (their story/what they're like) if you're sitting in their seat, Winston thinks ocean water is the best Sonic Drive-In drink, and Matt thinks frosting on cakes is a waste. For the tasting, jarred sauerkraut, a homemade red cabbage kraut, herb filled and beet sauerkrauts are served alongside a brat braised sauerkraut dish, kapustnyak (a polish sauerkraut soup) and an Amish Sauerkraut Pie.

Hosts of Fantasy Flix League Podcast Mike McLendon, Ryan Meharry and Amy Ruffle have hosts David and Winston return to the first food they ever did on the show: Olives. For this week's round of Hot Tastes, David wants smoked dog food to smell less appetizing, Winston wants garlic knots to be better than they are, Ryan thinks dill relish should be available at all concession stands and Amy thinks that chocolate ice cream is bad (which serves as validation for a past David Hot Taste). For the tasting, green olives with pimento, sliced black olives, kalamatas, chalkidiki greens and a mixed olive tapenade are served alongside deep fried green olives, an olive oil ice cream w/ a block olive caramel and a chocolate orange black olive cake.

For a round of Hot Tastes, David is willing to pay an exorbitant price for more pistachio candies while Winston wants meatballs to be a required available topping for pizzas. For the tasting, a mai tai, a black pearl, a kona swizzle and a deconstructed pina colada are served.

OH MY GOD THERE'S A CRAB IN THE POT! Comedian/musician Melissa Luna has a justified freak out over a whole crab on our latest episode. For Hot Tastes, David wants virus containment style gloves for fruit in grocery stores while Winston wants a fast food sauce min-sampler for a $1 charge. For the tasting, a whole dungeness crab, crab cakes, crab rangoon and a "crabapple" pie (crab dip pie served alongside red wine braised apples and lemon creme fraiche) are served up.

Raw Onion with Matt Mazany Jul 18, 2019

Writer/Director Matt Mazany challenges David and Winston this week with the specific preparation of raw onions. The episode kicks off with a sesame bar sent all the way from England that the hosts try on air. For the raw onion tasting, raw shallots, yellow and red onions are served along with a prepared yellow onion in a baking soda bath, a flash frozen yellow onion, a lemon juice soaked red onion, and a mignonette sauce PLUS a BRAT(wurst) off using these raw onions as the topping.

For the tasting, cantaloupe, vacuum sealed cantaloupe, proscuitto wrapped cantaloupe are served alongside a cantaloupe bread with pecan pralines and a charentais granita with chantilly cream.
