Follow the show on socials @ConwayShow.

Tim Conway Jr. brings his signature humor to breaking news, Los Angeles current events, Orange County stories, Riverside County headlines, the Inland Empire, live police chases, freeway traffic, Hollywood craziness, pop culture, the big sports stories of the day, politics, gambling, and everything happening across Southern California. With his finger on the pulse of what’s happening in SoCal and beyond, Conway delivers funny, fast-moving talk radio every weeknight on KFI AM 640.

Heard by listeners across the country and around the world on the iHeartRadio App, Conway’s humor, storytelling, and take on the current news of the day connect with audiences far beyond Southern California. His perspective is local, but his comedy, curiosity, and down-to-earth view of life translate across cultures, communities, and languages.

Tim Conway Jr. was born and raised in Los Angeles and is the son of iconic comedy legend Tim Conway of The Carol Burnett Show. He spent his childhood around Santa Anita, Hollywood Park, and Del Mar Racetracks with his father, four younger brothers, and older sister — experiences that helped shape his humor, storytelling, and down-to-earth perspective on life.

During his early career, Conway produced his own internet radio show and, thanks to its popularity, was offered the opportunity to host a talk show on 97.1 KLSX-FM. Over twelve successful years, his show became famous across Southern California for entertaining topics, live police chases, Hollywood craziness, pop culture, sports, and current events with a twist of humor. In 2009, when KLSX switched to an all-music format, Conway joined KFI AM 640, continuing to bring listeners his unique comedic perspective on breaking news, politics, gambling, history, sports, entertainment, and life in SoCal.

Throughout his career, Conway has been featured on Fox 11, CBS, NBC, and ABC, and has received numerous industry honors including a Golden Mic Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and a Marconi Award nomination for Personality of the Year. When he’s not entertaining listeners, Conway enjoys spending time with his family, supporting local charities, and hanging out at the racetracks.

Wheeled to Court, She Never Appeared Sep 19, 2026
    Show notes

Hour 1 (09.18)She was wheeled into a San Fernando courtroom on a gurney to face murder charges — and never made it in front of a judge. Plus, the losses of LA's news community is still absorbing.

6:05 — Bailee Lynn Rios, the Simi Valley woman charged in Tuesday's Metro bus crash in Chatsworth, arrived at Superior Court in San Fernando by ambulance and was wheeled in on a gurney, but never appeared before the judge. She faces murder, DUI and reckless-driving charges; bail is $4.03 million. A new video shows her bloodied in the wrecked SUV moments after impact. Investigators say they found hard drugs in her car, and a family friend says addiction had taken over her life in recent years. Also: a heartbreaking week for L.A. and for this news community.

6:20 — A new study in Scientific Data puts Greenland and Antarctica's ice loss at 12.5 trillion tons since the 1970s, and here's the part nobody expects: roughly five-sixths of it came from warm ocean water eating the glaciers from underneath, not from sunshine melting the top. Meanwhile, the ocean took a bite out of Nicolas Cage's Malibu house — a 30-by-30-foot sinkhole swallowed the driveway, triggered a gas leak, and got five oceanfront homes red-tagged.

6:35 — George Marciniw, the pilot killed in the NBC4 news helicopter crash, was Burbank High class of '74 and never really left the neighborhood — the Blue Room knew him. A longtime colleague says he "flew that helicopter just like a feather."

6:50 — An installer on a GFiber job in Irvine asked a customer to hand over her phone to "test the Wi-Fi," then texted an explicit video from it to himself, police say. Logan Edward Gray-McCannon, 37, of Hemet is charged with commercial burglary, unauthorized computer access and sharing a private sexual image — and Irvine PD believes there are more victims. Plus, the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and the foldable iPhone Duo hit stores today.

Best Burgers in L.A. and Why Simple Wins Sep 19, 2026
    Show notes

Hour 2 (09.18) Conway says A.I. isn't smart at all — and Neil's going off the roof of a 25-story hotel to raise money for Skid Row. Plus, the best burger in L.A. is also the simplest one.

7:05 — Neil Saavedra, KFI's Fork Reporter, throws down a climate change-and-A.I. challenge: is this the end of the world, or is the whole thing oversold? His argument is that A.I. isn't smart at all — its reductionism dressed up as intelligence. Is Siri even A.I.? A walk through the different types, and why everything in this world matters.

7:20 — National Cheeseburger Day, and the best burger in L.A. turns out to be the plainest one on the menu. Meat, cheese, bun, done. The case against everything else you're paying for.

7:35 — Neil is going Over the Edge for Union Rescue Mission — rappelling 25 stories down the side of the Universal Hilton, September 25 and 26, to fund beds and meals on Skid Row. Every rappeler raises at least $1,000 to get on the rope.

7:50 — Winning in life isn't the scoreboard. It's being grateful for what you already have instead of keeping a running tally of what you don't.

Garden Hose Collapsed a Hollywood Hillside Sep 19, 2026
    Show notes

Hour 3 (9.18) An unattended hose put about 7,000 gallons into a pool above Wilcox Avenue and took the hillside out from under it. Plus, Sushiya is closing after 28 years on Sunset.

8:05 — LAFD says a hose left running to fill a swimming pool sent roughly 7,000 gallons into the slope above the 1900 block of North Wilcox Avenue, pressurizing a retaining wall until it failed Friday afternoon. Cinder's blocks hit a vacant building below; eight apartment units on Grace Avenue were evacuated and later cleared, and crews siphoned the water out in about 90 minutes. Also: Sushiya, the sushi room at 8650 Sunset in Sunset Plaza, closes September 29 after 28 years.

8:20 — WDCD — What Did Conway Do? A Jamba Juice predicament, and the larger confession underneath it: Conway physically cannot send something back. Bad smoothie, wrong order, fly in the soup — he drinks it, eats it, says thank you. Plus, where the best street tacos actually are.

8:35 — Sammy Long from Not Quite Ringside on AM 570 KLAC with his picks for Sunday: Packers over the Jets, Texans over the Bengals, Chargers over the Raiders, Jaguars over the Broncos, and Washington over Dallas.

8:50 — We close the week remembering Eliana Moreno and George Marciniw of NewsChopper4, and Edy Gutierrez Mejia on the ground, after Tuesday's crash in Chatsworth. The helicopter was covering a Metro bus collision a few blocks away when it went down.

Is Siri A.I.? Plus, the Best Burger in LA Sep 19, 2026
    Show notes

Hour 4 (9.18) The best burger in Los Angeles isn't the $38 one with bordelaise sauce on it. Neil Saavedra stops in to argue about climate change, explain why A.I. isn't actually smart, and then go off a building.

9:05 — A new study in Scientific Data puts Greenland and Antarctica's ice loss at 12.5 trillion tons since the 1970s, and the surprise is where it's going: roughly five-sixths of that loss comes from warm ocean water eating the glaciers from underneath, not sunshine melting the top. Meanwhile, the ocean took its own bite out of Nicolas Cage's Malibu house — a 30-by-30-foot sinkhole swallowed the driveway and got five oceanfront homes red-tagged.

9:20 — Neil Saavedra, the Fork Reporter, brings the climate change and A.I. challenge. Is this the end of the world? And is A.I. smart at all, or are we just calling pattern-matching "intelligence"? Is Siri A.I.? What the different types of A.I. actually are, why reductionism gets it wrong, and the case that everything in this world matters.

9:35 — The best burger in L.A. is a simple burger. Time Out's #1 is a $38 double at Petit Trois with house made bordelaise; the Apple Pan's hickory burger is $11.25 and has been on the same griddle since 1947. Bills in Van Nuys will make you a bacon cheeseburger for nine dollars. Two patties, cheese, sauce, bun. That's it.

9:50 — Neil is going Over the Edge for Union Rescue Mission — rappelling 25 stories down the side of the Universal Hilton on September 25 and 26 to fund beds, meals, recovery and job training on Skid Row. Every rappeler must raise at least $1,000 to get on the rope, and URM says 87 cents of every dollar goes straight to the programs. Sign up or sponsor at urm.org/ote.

Tragedy in the San Fernando Valley with a Fatal Bus Crash and News Chopper 4 Going Down Sep 17, 2026
    Show notes

Hour 1 (9.16) It was a brutal night in the San Fernando Valley: A fatal bus crash in Chatsworth killed two passengers after a speeding SUV T-boned a bus that had the right of way, and then NBC’s News Chopper 4 went down while covering the scene, killing journalist Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw. Tim plays Mark Brown’s ABC report as details pile up — the SUV driver has a long rap sheet, is booked on suspicion of murder, and is being held on more than $4 million bail.

Burbank native Ross Benson of myburbank.com, who knew Marciniw for some 50 years, calls in to talk about his friend. NBC has spent the last 24 hours covering its own people; early on, some in the business thought it was a Channel 7 bird, and Tim worried it was his friend Chris Christi. The loss hits even harder because Moreno was so young, and engaged to be married.

6:05 — It was a truly horrible night last night in the San Fernando Valley. A fatal bus crash in Chatsworth, in which two people were killed, and the NBC's News Chopper 4 that was covering the crash going down, resulting in two media veterans, journalist Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw, dying in the tragedy.

6:20 — To more on last night's tragedy in Chatsworth. Tim plays the news report from Mark Brown of ABC (who Tim happens to share a one-sided friendship with). All of this kicked off when a woman speeding in an SUV T-boned the bus, which had the right of way, resulting in the death of two passengers. News Chopper 4 was covering the crash when it went down. That woman had quite the long rap sheet and is now booked on suspicion of murder. She's being held on $4 million-plus bail.

6:35 — Ross Benson, who runs the website myburbank.com, was born and raised in Burbank and has lived there for 70 years. He worked with NBC 4 pilot George Marciniw, who perished in last night's helicopter crash, with the pair knowing each other for some 50 years. Ross is talking about the tragedy and his relationship with George.

6:50 — It's been tough for NBC over the past 24 hours, who have been reporting on the death of their colleagues since News Chopper 4 went down last night around 7 p.m. Initially, many people in news thought it was a Channel 7 helicopter that went down, and Tim was concerned for his friend Chris Christi. What makes this especially sad is that Eliana Moreno was so young and engaged to be married.

Spitzer's E-Bike Blitz and Stanley's the Honey Baked Ham Man Sep 17, 2026
    Show notes

Hour 2 (9.16) OC DA Todd Spitzer calls in after the county’s e-bike buyback yanked about a thousand bikes off the road — parents swapping the kids’ death traps for gift cards so nobody else cracks a skull. Then a Valley win: Leslie David Baker, Stanley from “The Office,” is now co-owner of Honey Baked Ham on Ventura. Atta boy. Conway’s mall-rat mode is on with his daughter, who’s almost 21 — clothes for her, a cheeky bet at the track for him, just don’t tell the wife — plus Michael Gates is running for California AG and holding a $3-gas stop Saturday 10 a.m.–noon at 17453 Central Ave in Carson.

The Dodgers’ magic number is 1, California’s changing license-plate sequences because the state ran out of combos (Tim doesn’t care; his daughter does), and he wonders if inmates still stamp the plates. Burbank Airport’s new terminal opens October 13 — Timmy’s birthday — so naturally it should be Conway Airport.

After a brutal week in the Valley, Universal debuts the Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift, billed as the fastest coaster at any Universal park. The crew can’t wait; Toluca Lake neighbors are putting up a sound wall. Wear the belt. Timmy still loves the wooden one at Knott’s.

7:05 — The E-bike buyback down in Orange County has been very successful, with around 1,000 of those bikes taken off the road. OC District Attorney Todd Spitzer is on the phone to talk about the success of the program, where parents traded their kids' bikes for gift cards to ensure they don't crack their skulls or break any bones on the road.

7:20 — Did you know? Leslie David Baker, who played Stanley on "The Office," is now the co-owner of Honey Baked Ham on Ventura Blvd! Atta boy! In other news, Conway really enjoys going to the mall with his daughter, who'll be turning 21 in a few weeks. Atta girl! Tim buys her clothes while he also heads to the track for a cheeky bet, because he's really into multitasking — just don't tell his wife. Also, Michael Gates is running for AG of California, and next Saturday 10am–12pm, he'll be at 17453 Central Ave in Carson, where there'll be $3 gas!

7:35 — The Dodgers' magic number is 1. If they win one game in the next couple of weeks, they will have clinched their division. License plate sequences are changing in California. It's because there are so many cars on the road that the state has run out of numbers and has to change variations: three numbers, three letters, then one number. Timmy doesn't really care, but his daughter sure does. And that's why we're talking about it now. Timmy wonders if prisoners still make license plates. Burbank Airport's new terminal is opening for business on October 13. And Timmy is its No. 1 fan. Should it be renamed "The Conway Airport"? It is opening on his birthday, after all!

7:50 — After a rough week in the Valley and Greater Los Angeles, now for a little relief: Universal Studios has debuted its Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift roller coaster, said to be the fastest roller coaster at any Universal park in the world. The crew cannot wait to ride this thing, and the only people who hate it are the neighbors who live in Toluca Lake, who are erecting a sound barrier. Kids: Remember to use your seatbelts, so your brain doesn't scramble! Timmy loves the wooden one at Knotts Berry Farm.
