the problem with "imposter syndrome" May 04, 2023
    Show notes

i recently witnessed ocean vuong, the iconic poet, accept an award at a gala i recently attended, in which he completely upended the way i have understood this phenomenon of "imposter syndrome." his words have been at the forefront of my mind the last week, and have felt like a catalyst to a major breakthrough i'm facing about how i understand self-worth and practice self-affection.

    i think i'm ageist... Apr 10, 2023
    Show notes

i recently sat on a panel with ashton applewhite, the first "ageism activist" i've ever met. hearing her talk about how we're all conditioned to be ageist, and how ageism and ableism go hand in hand, was super eye-opening and thought provoking -- and i'm just going to be blunt about *all* the reflections i've been having about aging, age, and ageism. would love to know what you think!!

another school shooting!? Mar 30, 2023
    Show notes

i've been on auto pilot trying to stay focused on the busy month of work i have...while also keeping up to date with some of the heartbreaking news that has been hitting headlines over the last couple days. ignorance is bliss -- but still ignorance: so how do we balance being socially aware and up-to-date about what's happening in our world, while also maintaining peace-of-mind? ruminating on this question in this episode.

these freaking meds... Feb 24, 2023
    Show notes

i had a big self-care day of therapy and catching up with my psychiatrist. tldr i am, of course, still experiencing anxiety and depression symptoms, but frustrated by how i keep just getting pushed to increase my meds dosage. i want to work on the root of these symptoms and not just tack on band-aid solutions. my therapist also suggested ketamine infusion to work on some ptsd symptoms and i'm curious if anyone here has tried that before or know people who have?

how i got my varsity letter Feb 08, 2023
    Show notes

something you might not know about me is that i played on the boys' varsity baseball team in high school. what!? yeah, honestly it still surprises me and I still don't really understand why I decided to make such a big time commitment to something that i didn't have any prior interest in. in this episode, i reflect on past impulsive experiences that led me on unexpected journeys -- playing baseball being one of them.

    I’m a little overwhelmed…you? Jan 25, 2023
    Show notes

For the last week, I’ve been feeling pretty overwhelmed, and had more than a few panic attacks. Between lunar new year, work stress, and personal things I’m facing, it’s just feeling like…a lot. And the news about gun violence in this country does not help. In this episode, we face these thoughts, instead of trying to avoid them, and I share some things I’ve been experimenting with for coping.

Getting older, AHH Jan 18, 2023
    Show notes

I'm a few weeks away from turning 25-years-old, and in this episode I sit down to reflect on my irrational fear of aging and dying. This is something that I've struggled with for as long as I can remember, and it feels like ABOUT TIME that I move on from it. Nervous to share this, but eager to hear if some of y'all may relate.
