Welcome to Season 3 of The WoMed! In the season premiere, Danielle is joined by the incredibly inspiring Clare Surette, who is living with Crohn’s disease. She discusses mental health, the pandemic, her education background in public health, and her plans for the future. Despite the optimism we hear from Clare, she still has her insecurities; the biggest of them all? Dating with her added “accessory,” her ostomy. She also shares advice with others in her same situation, facing the loop ileostomy that ultimately, she says, gave her her life back. She then offers advice for medical professions including: be patient, listen, and don’t rush your patients or push decisions on them.
