You’re ambitious. You want the money, the challenge, the launches, the strategy, the satisfaction of figuring out a hard problem and thinking, yep, I nailed that.

So how did we end up here?

Working all day and still not getting to the thing you actually wanted to do. Feeling pulled in a million directions. Putting your own projects off again. Being the CEO of your business and somehow also the COO of everybody else’s life.

‘Cause you can make the launch work. The kids’ schedules work. The team work. The Sunday night work. The vacation-with-the-laptop work.

You can make almost anything work.

Until you look up and think… wait. Why am I doing all of this?

I’m Alyssa, and I’ve spent a lot of time figuring out how to build a business I love without making my entire life revolve around keeping it running.

On The Unbusy Mom, we’re going to question some of the things you’ve probably accepted as just how business works.

We’ll talk about motherhood, ambition, Human Design, time management, delegation, productivity…. And the invisible responsibilities that make your business feel heavier than it needs to be.

I.e., what actually has to change when you want a business AND a life. Because I don’t think you’re here to prove how much you can carry.

So you’re going to have to make some changes to the structure of the one you’ve already got.

But it doesn’t work that way. What you put on your to-do list, when you make time for it, how much time you choose for it, when you’re taking breaks between it – all that’s to do with your mindset.

What your kids’ algebra homework has to do with productivity support! Motivation Monday Dec 18, 2023

This is motivation Monday, and today we’re talking about what your brain tells you when it’s time to invest either time or money in your work-from-home business.

Because if your biggest objection to a coaching program is the time or the money that’s involved, it’s actually going to save you so much time and money down the road.

And yes, you are going to need every bit of this coaching support. Even if you don't think you'll have enough questions to fill it. (You will.)

You shouldn't have limits on how often do you get to have that support.

Do you tell your kids they can only ask you one math question a week? That they can get homework help once a month on their top, most tough problem in algebra?

That would be ludicrous!

But that’s what the self-study course industry is telling you. “Look, we’re doing you such a big favor – you get to ask 1 question a month!” (If you’re lucky.)

When you're in the thick of something you need one to one advice and coaching and assistance – almost every day.

That's just the way it works when you're mastering a new technique! And no, there is nothing wrong with you when you're doing that.

All you need is more support. And you haven't been getting it.

Tell me something: have you ever felt like this, too?

Like you’ve been left out by modern mom culture.

Like there’s something about your parenting priorities that doesn’t fit in, goes against the flow, and frankly, draws flak from your associates.

In fact, you’re doing stuff just to fit in – when you don’t even want to.

So let’s dive in to what’s causing that uncomfortableness, and what you can do differently to get rid of it.

What you’ll learn:

· Where’s the don’t-fit-in rub?

· Stop doing the extras that don’t matter

· Delete the should’s from your calendar

Pray over it, and make your choice to be different.

Because that’s what God’s called you to, regardless of feelings. Yourself or others.

You get to live this life following the purpose He set for you, leading the family He gave you, nurturing the talents He gifted you.

Doesn’t that sound wonderful? Way more important, eternally speaking, than whether or not the moms at church like you or make room for your homeschooling or business scheduling quirks.

So step out in what He has called you to do, and let their opinions fall by the wayside.

He expects nothing less. (And nothing more.)
