    The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast

Welcome to The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, which started off life as a weekly written blog in 2016, and soon made the jump into a regular one man and his mic, matter of fact straight talking podcast. In it, the host Paul looks at and recounts in-depth true crime cases from the UK and worldwide – both solved or unsolved crimes, but more often than not the lesser known and obscure ones. This series' Houses of Blood episode drops this time around, and we are off back just a couple of years, to the West Midlands, to hear a ghastly and tragic tale of an innocent woman, a friend to everyone, and a chance meeting that led to two individuals making their very warped fantasies into a very sick, stark reality.
The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, including descriptions of injury detail, that some listeners may find disturbing, and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

The Kill List. Feb 20, 2023
    Show notes

Dr David Birkett was an unassuming, quiet man, eminent in his fields of both Dermatology and Paleopathology, and well liked and respected by all who knew him. So when he answered a knock at his Middlesbrough door one night in February 1990, he couldn't for a second have considered that the figure stood before him meant him harm.
Harm was an understatement. It was the first action of an individual who is one of the strangest - and certainly most dangerous - we have come across on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, and whose story I bring here.
The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, including descriptions of injury detail and with reference to animal cruelty, that some listeners may find disturbing, and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

Poacher, Pet Man - Predator: Part 2 Feb 12, 2023
    Show notes

The concluding part of the Series 8 opening tale drops this time around on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast - where last part, we heard of the tragic tale of 16 year old Leeds schoolgirl Leanne Tiernan, who disappeared without trace one November afternoon in 2000, and who was sadly found dead almost nine months later, 13 miles away from home. What police couldn't have foreseen that August day that Leanne was found, is that everything found with her - even including the site where she was left - would lead them to her killer.
So, let me finish Leanne's tale - and so you can see what a monster we are dealing with here.
The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, including descriptions of a sexual nature and with reference to animal cruelty, that some listeners may find disturbing, and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

Poacher, Pet Man - Predator: Part 1 Feb 05, 2023
    Show notes

The first part of a two-part opening tale for Series 8 of The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast drops here, with the opening tale being one I have had part written for a couple of years now, and certainly one that affected me deeply - a tragic case, and a monstrously evil individual indeed.
It's a bit more of a familiar tale to some this one is, but I present my take on it, and if it isn't one you're all too familiar with, I promise it's one you'll never forget.
And it begins with a girl named Leanne....
    It's good to be back.

    A Moment Of Madness? - Part 2 Dec 12, 2022
    Show notes

Last time around, we heard of the horrific murder in August 1991 of Patricia O'Toole, who was left battered almost beyond recognition at the foot of the Dublin mountains - her seemingly having asked the wrong person for directions just hours before she was discovered. Just a few days into the investigation, two men were to approach Garda with information that would be the break in the case detectives were looking for.
Which you'll hear all about here, in the concluding part, and which bears the question:
Was it a moment of madness?
