Show notes

Anybody can make the wrong choices in life, the same as anybody can at some point in theirs find themselves on a path that they couldn't have envisaged, through no control of their own.And sometimes, the actions of an individual can highlight the former, and cause the latter - sometimes, as this tale from South Wales shows, due to the most horrific of actions. The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, involving injury detail, and descriptions of a sexual nature, that some listeners may find disturbing and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.Music used in this episode: "The Descent" by Kevin Macleod. The 40 Year Secret - Part 2 Sep 19, 2023

Show notes

Concluding the tale begun last time around on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, which dealt with the horrific rape and murder of a young girl on a winter's night back in the North Wales town of Flint, in January 1976. It was a fast moving investigation back at the time, which quickly led to an arrest, charges, and ultimately, imprisonment.
And that was it - or so it was thought. But four decades later, the case was heard once again before a court - because, had police caught the right killer at the time? Or, had the real killer long been roaming free?
The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, involving children, involving injury detail and descriptions of a sexual nature, that some listeners may find disturbing and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

The 40 Year Secret - Part 1 Sep 11, 2023

Show notes

We head back to the January of 1976 this time around on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, for a two part tale, a local one for me, that has tragedy and loss written all through it. It is a case that ultimately was to span four decades in total, with several twists and turns as you will hear throughout, and it all centred around a 15 year old girl named Janet....
I don't think it's a tale you will forget either.
The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, involving a child, involving injury detail and descriptions of a sexual nature, that some listeners may find disturbing and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

Sins Of The Father Sep 04, 2023

Show notes

Your children - they may drive you mad at times, or may cause you despair and torment - but regardless, are accepted as being the most important thing in your life. Your creations that you protect, nurture, teach - and that, without doubt, you can never, ever envisage harm coming to - because you'd die yourself first.
This time around on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, I bring two sad and disturbing examples of individuals, two fathers, who just didn't share this sentiment.
The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, involving children, involving injury detail, and with a reference to an instance of animal cruelty, that some listeners may find disturbing and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

The Romeo - Part 2 Aug 21, 2023

Show notes

Concluding the tale of tragic Marie Stewart, a devoted mum of two, and hard-working teaching assistant, whose biggest mistake in life was to try and share the world of an individual whose ego only allowed room for thoughts about one person in it - himself.Andrew Lindo. He pursued multiple affairs with other women, sometimes overlapping ones, all to satisfy his own selfish needs, and one evening in December 2010, when Marie threatened to bring his house of cards crashing down, committed the ultimate horrific act to ensure that she couldnt, before embarking on a remarkable, devious, course of deception to conceal his crime. As you will hear in this concluding part. The Romeo - Part 1 Aug 18, 2023

Show notes

Some people really do believe that they are the be all and end all to the opposite sex, and for some, they see this as their right to pursue gratification - regardless of scruples, guilt, or commitment - all to satisfy their own seld centred needs.
Occasionally, some will stop at nothing to ensure that these selfish needs are met - even if it means committing the most abhorrent, and callous, of acts - as Part 1 of a two part tale from West Yorkshire in 2010 will show you.
The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events that some listeners may find disturbing and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

Sex working is a dangerous profession - the exploits of Peter Sutcliffe, Stephen Griffiths, and Alun Kyte have shown over the years just how vulnerable those who work in this way of life can be. This time around on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, I bring the account of how in Liverpool, back in 2003, another individual began to target the sex working industry in an attempt to become the very next Ripper....

WWE Superstars of the like such as John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Brock Lesnar are worshipped by many for the athleticism they display in the arena of sports entertainment, deservedly so for the many years they have spent perfecting their craft to ensure that what they deliver looks effective, and yet is safe to do whilst working with other equally trained professionals. Under no circumstances should any of their arsenal of moves be copied at home, for if the amateur does so, for whatever reason, sometimes, the consequences can be deadly.
And sometimes, they can be fatal....
