Episode 599: How To Become An Emotional Badass with Nikki Eisenhauer Apr 04, 2022
    Show notes

Nikki is a Professional Psychotherapist, International Life Coach, Yoga Teacher, and Host of the podcast, Emotional Badass: Where Moxie Meets Mindful. In 2017, she launched the podcast to spread healing, empowerment, and hope to Highly Sensitive People (HSPs), empaths, survivors, and seekers all over the world. Drawing from her personal experiences as a survivor of childhood abuse and the years she’s spent as a psychotherapist and life coach, she mindfully designed the show to be the emotional education so many of us crave.
I truly believe in the power of healing. When we heal our wounds, let go of what doesn’t serve us, and embrace transformational self care, we are able live a life of purpose, peace, and connection. As we each step up to do this healing work—through the butterfly effect, —we change the world.

Episode 596: Beyond Self Care with Francoise Mathieu, M.Ed Mar 24, 2022
    Show notes

Before becoming a specialist in organizational stress and trauma-exposed work, Françoise worked as a front-line mental health provider in a variety of complex settings including providing employee assistance to members of the Canadian Military. Over the last 25 years she has worked with law enforcement, military personnel, health care, child welfare, social services, addiction support, education and other professionals in need of psychological support.
As the child of two French-Canadian educators, Françoise spent her early years in Nunavik in Arctic Quebec. Growing up in the Arctic had a powerful impact on her view of the world and shaped her social justice lens towards exploring the potentially negative impact of provider impairment, burnout and empathic strain on all members of a community.
Françoise is Executive Director of TEND, whose aim is to offer consulting and training to professionals on topics related to secondary trauma, empathic strain, burnout and organizational health. Françoise is a Registered Psychotherapist and a subject matter expert on topics related to empathic strain and secondary trauma.
TEND’s program has grown in size and scope since its early inception and TEND is now present across North America offering training and consulting to a wide variety of workplaces. Françoise has worked with the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Police, Cirque du Soleil, the Chief Coroner’s Office and many other organizations who do high stress exposed work.
Françoise Mathieu is now a sought-after speaker and educator in Canada, the U.S. and around the world. In the words of some of her audience members, her presentations are “eye opening”, “validating”, and “life changing”.
One of her best qualities is the ability to impart valuable information in a way that resonates – with everyone. Mental health can be a sensitive subject laced with the issues of stigma and embarrassment, but Françoise’s sense of humour, and her stories, help engage even the most challenging groups.
Françoise is a TedX speaker and is one of the founding members of the Secondary Traumatic Stress Consortium. She is also the author of “The Compassion Fatigue Workbook” which was published by Routledge in 2012 as well as several articles and publications.

Episode 595: How To Disrupt Generational Trauma with Fellonte Misher & Sangeeta Prasad, PsyD Mar 21, 2022
    Show notes

Fellonte Misher, Co-Founder and Program Director
Fellonte Misher has supported young men in his community to consider life outside of gangs for many years. He is a third grade teacher at Tubman Elementary School and is an athlete who is dedicated to physical health and reflection. Fellonte is a Washington DC Native who spent four years playing collegiate football at Old Dominion University and then went on to play professionally in Ancona, Italy and in Krakow, Poland. Through In The Streets, he will continue to interrupt the community norms that dissuade young black men from believing that college is a possibility. Fellonte’s goal is to make the young people in his community feel a sense of opportunity to build their life somewhere other than in the streets.
As of now, black men are regularly shot and killed in this community due to gang violence that results from the lack of economic opportunity and the lack of emotional support and consistent role models available to these young men. Fellonte is a big brother to so many members of the community.
Sangeeta Prasad, MEd, PsyD, Co-Founder and Director of Training
Sangeeta Prasad is a psychologist who engages in long term family work in a mixed income practice. She is an adjunct Professor at The George Washington University’s Human Services and Social Justice program. Her areas of experience include early intervention to prevent the continuation of transgenerational trauma in families, addressing racism in clinical practice and in dialogue spaces, and cultural training focused on adapting psychological practice to meet the actual needs of minority communities.
