Episode 667: My Daughter's Have My Courage in Their Blood with Amelia Zachry Oct 24, 2022
    Show notes

Amelia Zachry was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After graduating from Curtin University with a degree in marketing, she worked in public relations and marketing until she met her American husband, Daniel, when he was traveling through Malaysia. Since then, they have lived together in Japan, Canada (where Amelia obtained a second degree in human ecology from the University of Western Ontario), and Kentucky, and had two daughters together.
Amelia Zachry is a writer and an advocate for sexual assault survivors and those who suffer from mental illness.
Her experience with sexual assault and the mental illness that followed has been one in secrecy, born of fear and shame. Going undiagnosed and untreated, she suffered in silence. Maladaptive behaviors that affected her life were just part of the norm. Once diagnosed, she learned about treatment and therapy and a methodology to regain her life.
Now, she’s walking the journey in recovery and she’s taken to writing to break the silence. Her book, Enough, which is a book about hope and inspiration, is an homage to all those suffering in silence.
She was recently published on HuffPost and Moms Don’t Have Time to Write, and blogs weekly at https://ameliazachry.com, where you can find a list of her recent appearances and more information about her and her work. Amelia lives in Lexington, Kentucky.

Episode 664: Operation: Restore Hope with Sgt Aaron Quinonez Oct 13, 2022
    Show notes

Sgt. Aaron Quinonez (Sgt Q) is a proud veteran, speaker, author, father and PTSD ambassador. Sgt Q endured a rough upbringing before becoming a proud Marine right out of high school. He was trained to fight the enemy and was prepared for war, however when he volunteered for a combat tour in Iraq, little did he know that his real battle would be fought in his mind. After eight years of military service, Sgt Q suffered from depression, anger, and panic attacks and was diagnosed with PTSD. He nearly ended his own life and now has gone on to help others that battle the same mental health issues.
Sgt Q traded the battlefield for the mission field and found healing and purpose through building homes and churches, feeding children, and supplying precious hope to struggling communities worldwide. God then called him to form QMissions, a pathway for veterans—Sgt Q’s fellow warfighters—to replace the battle scars of their minds with the joy of serving. Now, Sgt Q is the award-winning author of Healing Thru Service originally aimed at struggling veterans, which also offers help for anyone in crisis and may be one's ticket to a more fulfilled life. He went from being homeless and on the brink of suicide to starting the multi-million dollar company with over 100 employees, Reliable Commercial Cleaning, founding the veteran non-profit, Q Missions, and the health-tech startup, Q Actual 2.0, that helps with suicide prevention by creating real-life squads with an eternal bond.
Sgt Q is a Marine 1st Anglico veteran who specialized in communication as a forward observer. He holds billets for Naval Weapons Security Management and Close Combat Instructor. He received badges for expert marksmanship and master parachutist. He received the 2016 Distinguished Service to Veterans award and the 2018 Superior Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs. An was awarded the 2017 Hometown Hero award from Kiro7 news.

Episode 660: Life Centered Therapy with Andy Hahn, PsyD Oct 03, 2022
    Show notes

Andrew Hahn, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and the developer of the Life Centered Therapy Training program and co-author, along with Joan Beckett, of the book, The One-Hour Miracle.
While Dr. Hahn’s strong foundation and significant experience in traditional psychology has served his clients well, he has been untiring in his effort to better understand what is going on for people so that he could better help them live more contented and healthier lives. This calling for greater understanding, as well as certain experiences which he could not fully comprehend within the confines of traditional Western paradigms, led him on a search for answers that opened him to the worlds of Buddhist and Eastern Psychology, as well as Mystery Trainings; and Depth, Archetypal and Spiritual Psychology.
He received his A.B. Magna Cum Laude in Social Studies/Psychology from Harvard University and his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Hahnemann University. He is certified by Helen Palmer to teach the Enneagram and has also been a faculty member in the graduate Counseling Programs at Lesley University and Northeastern University.
During this period, Thich Nhat Hanh, Brugh Joy, Dick Olney, Helen Palmer, Barbara Hastings, and Claudio Naranjo were particularly influential and powerful teachers for him.
As that period was ending, he started working with Judith Swack, the developer of Healing from the Body Level Up. Working with her opened him to the worlds of Kinesiology, current research on Violence and Loss Traumas, and Energy Psychology. Dr. Swack and Dr. Hahn collaborated for several years marrying their two worlds, and this collaboration formed the foundation of the work that is now known as Life Centered Therapy.
In 1997, after several years of witnessing the power of the work, Dr. Hahn developed the Life Centered Therapy Training program for those who want to facilitate and/or teach this process. Today, Dr. Hahn has a private practice in Waltham, MA; speaks, teaches and leads trainings and healing groups internationally; and continues his effort to better understand what is going on for people so that he can better help them live more contented and healthier lives.
