A source says that the White House eyed executive action "by end of week" if negotiations on relief packages stall kin Congress.

    A makeshift hospital has opened in the Georgia Convention Center. Large gatherings are causing alarm as new coronavirus cases are being spread. The Mississippi governor orders a two-week mask mandate and delays the start of in-person learning in hot spots.

    The third United States company releases a study showing its coronavirus vaccine is safe, elicits immune response.

    Fauci says that the United States is facing a very serious situation as new cases climb. Trump tweets "open the schools" as Fauci warns about student safety. Trump displays a lack of understanding of coronavirus testing.

    Awaiting Trump's coronavirus briefing as he attacks and contradicts Dr. Birx, for the first time, following her warning that virus is "widespread" in the United States. Trump says he's "totally involved" with stimulus talks and claims Democrats "want bailout money." Trump keeps pushing drug despite warning as task force disputes claims. There is still no sign of "full and complete" health care plan Trump promised two weeks ago. Trump had promised action in "two weeks" but missed deadline.

    United States' deaths top 155,000 as cases near 4.7 million cases. The rate of new coronavirus deaths are trending up in 30 states. Florida is set to become the second state with the most coronavirus cases behind California with half a million coronavirus cases.

    Experts plead with the public to wear masks and avoid crowds. Large parties are causing alarm as new cases spread. New questions come up about schools in areas of widespread cases.

    Fauci says that the default position should be to keep schools open but the primary consideration should be safety. 250 employees infected or exposed to coronavirus in Georgia's largest school district.

    Antibody trial sees positive results as Covid-19 treatment.

    Florida And California Set Records For Deaths In A Day Jul 24, 2020

    Trump holds briefing as United States coronavirus cases top four million and about one million reported in the past 15 days. Trump holds briefing without Fauci for the third day. The United States coronavirus death toll exceeds 143,000, as new deaths top 1,000 for two straight days.

    Trump says that timing is not right for Jacksonville convention. Trump cancels Jacksonville portion of GOP convention.

    Florida and California set records for deaths in a day. Florida reports a record 173 deaths and more than 10,000 cases in a day. The Miami mayor says that 32 percent of people are contracting the coronavirus at home and suggests masks, social distancing for inside the home for some.

    Dr. Birx warns of the concerning rise in cases in cases in 12 cities as Trump paints a rosy picture. A new study suggests that the United States would have reduced case counts if it opened later and more slowly and kept gatherings small. CDC experts say that COvid-19 "will end up as a top 10 leading cause of death" in 2020. An ex-FDA commissioner says that the United States could see 300,000 deaths.

    Trump says that there has never been a replacement for in-person learning.

    Trump Holds Coronavirus Briefing After Warning The Pandemic Will Get Worse Jul 23, 2020

    The United States death toll tops 142,000 after reporting more than 1,000 deaths in one day. The rate of new coronavirus cases are rising in more than half of the states in the country. Coronavirus hospitalizations in the United States are nearing April's peak. A key model projects nearly 220,000 deaths by November, about 5,000 fewer than the last forecast due to mask mandates.

    California hits new daily peak of 12,807 cases as United States is on track to add one million cases in just two weeks. Fear of coronavirus case spike as New York City moves to reopen schools.

    Trump is to hold a coronavirus briefing after warning that the pandemic will get worse. Fauci says that we're not winning this coronavirus fight and that we're not even halfway through the game. Fauci also says that more than 100,000 people have signed up for vaccine clinical trials. The United States agrees to pay Pfizer nearly two billion dollars for 100 million doses of promising vaccine. Fauci also says, "I don't really see us eradicating" Covid-19. A study shows that immunity to coronavirus may decline quickly after infection.
