    CNN Poll Says 68 Percent Embarrassed By United States Coronavirus Response Aug 20, 2020

    The United States tops 5.5 million coronavirus cases with more than 172,000 deaths. A new CNN poll says that 68 percent of Americans are embarrassed by the United States coronavirus response. The poll also says that 56 percent of people would try to get a coronavirus vaccine. This number is down from 66 percent in May. Fauci says that "until you prove it's safe and effective, you really don't want to be talking about having a vaccine."

    Coronavirus cases have been confirmed at colleges in at least eight states. White House testing Czar says that coronavirus cases could "turn around very quickly if we're not careful." The New York Times says that the FDA has paused emergency authorization for treatment using blood plasma.

    Kamala Harris, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton headline tonight's Democratic National Convention.

    Trump says "if you can protest in person, you can vote in person" as campaign video shows him filling out an absentee ballot. Trump is fuming over his postmaster general who will testify as GOP kicks off convention next week. Trump embraces calls for boycott of Goodyear Tires as people are accusing the company of banning MAGA hats. The White House refuses to say whether or not Trump will accept the results of the election if he loses.

    The United States coronavirus death toll surpasses 171,000 with 5.4 million cases, as new coronavirus cases fall below 40,000 a day for the first time in two months. United States is still seeing more than 1,000 deaths per day despite lower cases are being reported.

    The postmaster general suspends changes at post offices amid Trump's assault on mail-in voting and Pelosi warns that it "doesn't reverse damage already done."

    Jill Biden and former President Bill Clinton speak on night two of virtual democratic convention. Excerpts have been released of Jill Biden and Bill CLinton's speeches. Trump attacks Michelle Obama after her scathing remarks in convention speech, using his words, "it is what it is." Trump slams former administration official for endorsing Biden. Rep Ocasio-COrtez given a one minute speaking slot tonight.

    Trump ally is saying that the president is "enthusiastic" about an unproven therapeutic made from a toxin plant but can't provide evidence it works.Notre Dame University reports almost 150 positive coronavirus cases. Fauci says that learning remotely is better for some parts. A new study says that it is possible for coronavirus spread on airplane.

    New York, New Jersey and Connecticut add two more states to their quarantine list.

A Trump supporter who created MyPillow says the college president is "enthusiastic" over unpriven coronavirus therapeutic.

    The FDA grants the emergency use authorization for the saliva test.

    The postmaster general agrees to testify to congress as Trump steps up his attacks on mail-in voting. Democrats begin their unprecedented virtual convention. The UNC Chapel Hill is returning to remote learning due to rise in Covid-19 cases in the United States. Fauci warns of "really troublesome" long-term effects in young people as cases break out at college across the United States.

    The United States death toll tops 166,000, with more than 5.2 million cases after the deadliest day of the pandemic since May. Florida sees more than 4,000 cases a day for 51 straight days. The next season has been labeled the "worst Fall" in public health history.

    Biden and Harris call for mask mandates in every state, which is drawing direct contrasts with Trump's Covid response. Biden says, "be a patriot, wear a mask to save lives," to Americans. Biden campaign: Huge fundraising after Harris joined ticket.

    Trump unloads on Harris and calls her "mean," "nasty" and "angry." Trump admits he opposes new postal service funding to black mail-in voting. Federal judge demands Trump campaign and RNC show evidence of vote-by-mail fraud. Trump attacks his FBI director, issues warning to Attorney General Barr.

    Fauci says, "We've got to think about returning to some sense of normalcy." Fauci also says, "Bottom line... I'm not pleased with how things are going." Fauci urges Americans to get outdoors as much as possible and to keep windows open.

    CDC Chief breaks from Trump's spin and admits "we were underprepared" for crisis.

    Biden Picks Sen. Kamala Harris As Running Mate Aug 12, 2020

    Biden picks Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate. Biden and Harris are to appear for the first time as running mates tomorrow, in Wilmington, Delaware. Biden picked Harris, a historic choice, out of 11 women total to be his running mate for the 2020 presidential campaign. If elected, Harris would be the first women to be Vice President of the United States. Harris would also be the first African American and Indian American elected to be Vice President of the United States. Biden and Harris were once rivals, when they were both running to be the Democratic candidate for the 2020 presidential election.

    Harris is to give her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Committee Convention next week.

    Coronavirus Cases Nearing 20 Million Worldwide Aug 11, 2020

    Coronavirus cases nearing 20 million worldwide. 25 percent of all coronavirus cases are in the United States where the death toll now tops 163,000.

    Experts are saying that there is "no way" the Moderna vaccine will be ready by election day as Trump suggests. The FDA chief says that the agency will "not cut corners" to approve a Covid-19 vaccine. Trump also defends his executive orders as the White House struggles to explain them. A source says that the White House looked at executive action on mail-in voting as Trump attacks the process. Trump is denying that the White House asked about adding him to Mount Rushmore.

    More schools are reopening this week as data shows almost 100,000 United States children tested positive in the last two weeks of July. At least 484 students, 21 staff are in quarantine in one Georgia school district. Georgia school that was seen in a viral photo of a crowded hall temporarily closes after nine test positive. The Georgia governor defends reopening schools as educators voice fears. Reports say the Big 10 may cancel its college football season.

    Texas coronavirus positivity rate hits record high at 20 percent.

With testing declining in 29 states, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo clears schools to reopen next month. With the virus largely under control, New York City may be the only big U.S. city to allow in-person classes. Trump seizes on Biden's comments regarding African American diversity. In Georgia, a 7 year old becomes one of the state's youngest victims of the coronavirus and a local high school reverses it's decision to suspend a student after a picture of students not wearing masks goes viral.

    United States coronavirus deaths top 157,000 with more than 4.8 million coronavirus cases as the United States sees the highest one-day death toll in two months. Fauci says that the United States has suffered from the coronavirus "as much or worse than anyone." Fauci also says that the United States moved too fast in reopening the country, some states ignored guidelines.

    More than 100 students have been quarantined after several people test positive in Mississippi school district. A Georgia 2nd grader tests positive after the first day of school. More than 200 Georgia school employees are not working due to the coronavirus scare. Mississippi delays in-person learning in coronavirus hot spots. Dr. Fauci's advice to schools is to keep the windows open. Chicago public schools are to start the year with online-only instruction. A study finds higher coronavirus rates among minority children.

    New York City is setting up checkpoints for out-of-state drivers. A curfew is to slow spread of coronavirus in Jackson, Mississippi. Infectious disease experts urge the White House to issue a federal mask mandate in all states.
