#127: 5 Steps that can help you achieve something you've never done before Feb 07, 2023
    Show notes

In this episode I give examples both in and out of sport that could possibly help you achieve heights in areas even though you've never been there before.

When you want to get somewhere you’ve never been before, there are 5 things I think you need to do:

    1. Don’t let pride get in the way. Be honest with yourself about where you’re at in your journey/development.

    2. Watch those who are ahead of you w/their knowledge or experience (you can learn from their success and failure).

    3. Build relationships. Be upfront with them about what you want the relationship to look like (no one likes a slick talker).

    4. Evaluate your character and make changes that will help you get to where you want to go.

    5. Be patient with yourself!

#126: Are Intentional A**holes better than Unintentional Angels? Jan 31, 2023
    Show notes

In this episode, I touched on two different scenarios that have happened in my life. One was quite dangerous, and the other was a bad look on one of our kids' character (because he was bored). Unintentional kindness is more dangerous than being an intentional JERK!

    What was discussed:

    • Character vs. Knowledge
    • Knowing the character of someone before you interact with them can save you heartache and grief
    • Lack of knowledge has an expiration date

    #125: Headcase: A Story of Shock & Denial | Chris K. Jones Jan 24, 2023
    Show notes

Chris K. Jones is an award-winning writer, former competitive athlete, and coach. His experiences in his youth with professional athletes shaped his interest in understanding the minds of athletes. Trying to mimic his heroes, he ignored the messages his body was sending him. After a series of broken bones, an eating disorder, and mental health issues, he knew he had to change. Chris turned to Judo, translated as the “gentle way,” Buddhism, meditation, and intensive self-reflection to begin his journey to healing. This served as a pathway to understanding who he was, on and off the mat, and how to turn failure into success. Chris uses his imagination and suspenseful storytelling to raise awareness about generational trauma and mental health in sports.

    Show notes

This is a refurbished episode (it aired back in February of 2022). Anthony Q. Newman played 12-years in the NFL (Rams, Saints, & Raiders) and is now a talk show host and radio personality. Before that, he was a highly decorated college football player at the University of Oregon (Go Ducks). Anthony shares some poignant moments when he finished playing professionally and the curse that many professional athletes have to battle when they are done playing their sport. Anthony was inspired at a young age to give back to the athletes in Oregon. Since realigning himself and what his new passion is, he has had an amazing amount of success. Have a listen to his journey.

    • Moments when you were told you weren't good enough
    • The reason why most people view passion as anger
    • The biggest difference between good & bad leadership
    • A conversation with Al Davis that created a fan for life

#121: 3 keys to keep you from being blindsided Dec 20, 2022
    Show notes

As former elite athletes, so much of what you’ve done on your platform was cheered and sometimes jeered. Your character has been intertwined with your ability in your sport since you were a kid, and once you exited your sport, you were lost.

This is where I come in. I work with athletes, celebrities, entrepreneurs, and fortune 500 executives to align their purpose with their passion, assign whom they want to become and where they want to go. I then help them uncover the adjustments that they need to make in their character, relationships, decisions, and thinking to live their life to the fullest.

Go from confused and frustrated to intentional and influential. My coaching is for people who feel stuck when it comes to transitioning into another field…AND…for those who understand the power of having a coach to help guide them and their decisions.

Are you ready to have more influence in your life and the lives of others? Just shoot me a message on here OR send me an email at alex@alexmoldencoaching.com, and we can get a call scheduled.

    The 3 keys:

    • Keep your head on a "swivel"
    • Know your environment
    • Don't let resources distract you from your job
