Fast X - It's All About NONSENSE! May 26, 2023

Show notes

The Salty Nerds talk about the Fast and Furious franchise and about how much they disliked Fast X, the latest entry into the Fast saga. Too long, too bloated, and not fun at all, the Salty Nerds really HATED this movie, especially compared to the previous films (which they mostly enjoyed). Directed by newcomer to the franchise, Louis Leterrier, and supposedly the first part of a "finale trilogy," this movie brings back all the previous stars of the franchise, including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Ludacris, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Brie Larson, Helen Mirren, and a new bad guy in the form of Aquaman himself - Jason Momoa. Forget the rules of gravity or common sense, Fast X is all about the spectacle, baby! And the Salty Nerds are here to talk about it - because it's alllllll about FAMILY. What did you think of Fast X? Did you love it? Hate it? Did you make it all the way through the movie without having to go to the bathroom? Let us know on our Discord server here: http://www.saltynerddiscord.com

Evil Dead Rise & Why Do People Like Horror Movies? May 12, 2023

Show notes

The Salty Nerds have a discussion about why people like horror movies, because half of the nerd crew hate horror films, and the other half love them. What is it about horror movies people like? Is it the gore? The fear of the unknown? The supernatural element? Or are horror movie fans just pure psychopaths that like seeing mindless violence?

Speaking of mindless violence, the Nerds also review the movie Evil Dead Rise during their discussion, as well as talk about a bevy of horror movies they've previously reviewed on the podcast.

What is your favorite scary movie? Why do you think people like the horror genre? Let us know on our Discord server here: http://www.saltynerddiscord.com

There's actually a video game adaptation renaissance going on right now, with the release of Super Mario Bros and a string of actually GOOD video game movies. WTF is going on? The Salty Nerds weigh in with their thoughts. And we want to know your thoughts too! What is your favorite video game adaptation? Why does Hollywood get it so wrong so often?
