20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954) - Whale Milk Dec 12, 2023

Show notes

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954) Movie Review: The Salty Nerds dive into this classic story based on the novel by Jules Verne and produced by the legendary Walt Disney. Starring Kirk Douglas and James Mason, this "retro" movie takes you on an underwater adventure that actually heavily inspired the Pirates of the Caribbean films, oddly enough. What is your 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea review? Did you love it? Hate it? What are your thoughts on giant squids? Let us know in the comments!

The Wedding Singer (1998) - Jude & Matt Celebration Dec 11, 2023

Show notes

The Nerds talk about the most romantic movie ever - The Wedding Singer, starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore from 1998. Oh, and they also celebrate the marriage of Jude and Kadish! Huzzah!

Viva Las Vegas (1964) - Look Out, Man! Dec 10, 2023

Show notes

Viva Las Vegas (1964) Movie Review: The Salty Nerds experience the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas in 1964 in this film about a race car driver preparing for the Grand Prix while working as a waiter to pay for his new engine. Elvis Presley stars as this waiter who strikes up a whirlwind romance with a gorgeous young woman, played by Ann-Margret, who can do WAY better than a broke waiter. This movie is filled with musical numbers, senseless killing, and plenty of good ol' misogyny! Everything you could possibly want from a 1964 movie! So grab your blue sued shoes and get ready to be entertained! What is your Viva Las Vegas movie review? Did you love it? Hate it? Did it make you want to shake your hips? Let us know in the comments!

Invasion Season 2 Episode 10 - DUMB AF! ft. Smitty's Snippets Nov 03, 2023

Show notes

Just when you thought Season 2 of AppleTV's Invasion couldn't get any worse, we get the season finale, which is boring, confusing, AND has nothing happen... again. One of the dumb AF finales we've ever seen. God, we hope this doesn't get a season 3! Joining us to share our misery is Smitty's Snippets! Invasion Season 2 Episode 9 - Worst Penultimate Ever Oct 27, 2023

Show notes

It's the second to last episode of Invasion Season 2, and nothing happens. It's also the shortest episode. And it's very, very dumb. This is not how you do a Penultimate episode. The episode name is "Breakthrough" but the only thing the Salty Nerds want to break through is a brick wall with their heads because this show is such a pain to watch! Go F-yourself, show. ALIEN (1979) - The Cat & The Alien Oct 27, 2023

Show notes

The Cat was in on it.

The Shining (1980) Is An Overrated Piece Of Trash Oct 20, 2023

Show notes

The Nerds talk about The Shining (1980) and how this beloved horror classic may actually be a bloated, pretentious, overrated, piece of trash. The table is definitely divided over what Kadish calls Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece. And though Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall deliver amazing performances, that's not enough for Alex and Vader like this movie. What do you think of this adaptation of the Stephen King novel? Is it a classic? It it pretentious? Is it overrated? Is it absolute trash? Which Nerds are you siding with in this review? Invasion Season 2 Episode 8 - Click Clacking Oct 19, 2023

Show notes

Trevante's brilliant plan is revealed, and he's STILL upset he's thrown in jail. Casper's crew finds the seizure kids and start drawing stuff. Monty is quickly becoming the best character in the show, and Indian Elon Musk mans up to blast aliens with magnets. Oh, and Mitsuki gets a magic wand and figures out what the alien language sounds like!

Yes, 8 episodes have lead to... nothing. Pretty much nothing. This show is awful.
