Performance, health, learning, creativity, mastery.
Interviews and conversations with leaders in their respected fields.
This episode's guests are Shawn Sherman and Dan Fichter.
Shawn earned his Exercise and Sport Science degree from Penn State University and operates a private practice in Western Springs, Illinois. Over the years, Shawn has held numerous industry certifications and therefore understands what and how the conventionalists think and believe. Over the past 25 years, his understanding of movement has evolved from that of an apprentice level to a level of mastery by continually seeking answers to his questions. Because he now intimately and thoroughly understands the most basic components of movement, he brings an unparalleled perspective to the table. Not only does he consistently deliver absolutely amazing results to his clients, he teaches his students to be able to do the same.
Dan Fichter owns and operates Wannagetfast Power/Speed Training, a performance training business in the Upstate NY area that offers training to elite athletes. Dan has traveled the country speaking to numerous coaches on speed training, strength training, and nervous system development and has showed them how to pull these elements into a comprehensive package that can substantially elevate an athlete’s speed, strength, and movement capabilities. Dan has coached football at the high school and college level for over 20 years and is currently the Head Football Coach at Irondequoit High School in Rochester NY. In 6 years as the head coach, he has won 2 Sectional Titles to add to the 6 he’s won as a head track coach at the same high school.

This episodes sees the return of Chris Korfist and Cal Dietz.
The guys were previously on the episode 215 along with JL Holdsworth to discuss RPR.
Unlike most facilities who are staffed by young coaches who rely on their recent playing career and “cool” factor, Slow Guy Speed School is staffed by Chris Korfist, a “sprint guru” with an international following.
With over 55 all-state sprinters and countless other high school all-state athletes, and over 20 years experience, he knows what is appropriate for the athlete in the room and not so concerned about what the pros are doing or someone else journey to where they got.
In fact, the methods have been so effective, Chris has consulted NFL teams, Big 10 Universities, Olympic team and U.S. Special Forces.
Cal Dietz has been an Olympic Sport Strength and Conditioning coach for numerous sports at the University of Minnesota since 2000. During his tenure, Dietz has trained athletes that have achieved 400+ All-American honors, Teams that have won 33 Big Ten/WCHA championships teams and 10 NCAA Team Champions. He has consulted with Olympic and World Champions in various sports and professional athletes in the NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB, MMA and Professional Boxing.
