Call Me Back - with Dan Senor: Dan Live from Michigan’s Temple Israel Oct 16, 2026
    Show notes

Is this a turning point for Jews in America, and what happens if the country fails the test?

Recorded live at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, Dan Senor brings together New York Times columnist Bret Stephens and Representatives Josh Gottheimer and Hillary Scholten for a candid conversation about the rising tide of antisemitism, the political forces reshaping American life, and the choices facing Jews and their allies.

    In this live conversation:

    • Dan explains the three-step playbook behind the blood libel that still plays out today

    • Bret Stephens reflects on reactions to October 7th, what it revealed about the Jewish community’s allies, and the meaning of becoming an “October 8th Jew.”

    • Stephens explores the uneasy parallels between Jewish success in the diaspora and the sudden rise of antisemitism.

    • Stephens reflects on how societies that condemn the Jews end up much worse in the aftermath.

    • Dan Senor, Gottheimer, and Scholten discuss the consequences for both parties when anti-Israel rhetoric moves from campus protests into the political mainstream.

    • The Representatives discuss what it takes to show moral courage when the political risks are very real.

    • Gottheimer and Scholten explain what they’re seeing inside their party, especially as Gottheimer co-chairs the Problem Solvers Caucus.

    • The conversation closes with a challenge to stand together, defend Jewish life, and decide what kind of country America wants to be.

Gray Matters: Suncor, Energy Policy, and the Future of Federalism (Notice & Comment May 2026 Conference Keynote Panel) Oct 15, 2026
    Show notes

In the keynote panel from the Gray Center's May conference, moderator Adam White (Gray Center, AEI) speaks with Michael Williams (West Virginia Solicitor General) and Matt Leopold (Holland & Knight and former EPA General Counsel) about federal energy and environmental regulation, focusing on the Supreme Court’s pending Suncor v. City of Boulder case and broader post-Chevron litigation dynamics.
The case concerns whether state tort law can be used to impose liability for climate change damages and effectively regulate interstate emissions, raising preemption and territorial-jurisdiction concerns. The discussion covers potential federal common law and Clean Air Act preemption, limits on extraterritorial regulation, and skepticism of Dormant Commerce Clause arguments. They connect these issues to the EPA’s current deregulatory efforts, the end of Chevron deference after Loper Bright, and questions about Mass. v. EPA.

Daily Signal: Victor Davis Hanson: The Problem with America’s Military Arsenal Oct 15, 2026
    Show notes

As adversaries use cheap drones to drain America's expensive missile stockpiles, the United States faces a growing challenge in modern warfare. With weapons costing millions of dollars being used to destroy drones worth only a few thousand, the imbalance raises serious questions about America's military readiness. Drawing lessons from World War II, the answer may lie in a renewed focus on mass production, affordable weapons, and the ability to outproduce America's adversaries as global threats continue to grow.

Beyond the Polls with Henry Olsen: Way On Base Oct 15, 2026
    Show notes

The midterms are just weeks away, and Democrats are still enjoying a historically large lead in the generic congressional ballot. In response, the president is jetting about to rally support in key states. However, unlike the boldly expansive campaigns of MAGA ascendancy, his visits to safe districts reveal a defensive strategy aimed at mitigating losses. Henry rants his way through this development and draws attention to others that casual observers might miss, as he comes closer to finalizing his big election prediction.
Plus, we look at two ads that bet it all on Independents. Stay tuned till the end for Henry's thoughts on late pitches for these ambitious campaigns to flip a Minnesota Senate seat and Montana's 1st Congressional District.

The Erick Erickson Show: S15 EP186: Hour 1 - The Debanking Happened Oct 15, 2026
    Show notes

Breaking news out of the gate: President Trump cancels the livestream of Nidal Hasan's execution, and Erick explains why turning an execution into content and memes would have been a mistake. Then the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency releases a sweeping report finding that all nine of the largest U.S. banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo, used vague reputational risk policies to debank conservatives, gun sellers, oil companies and some progressive groups. Plus Jake Tapper and CNN take the Ilhan Omar search warrant seriously, and Abdul El-Sayed gets combative with NBC over his family's Muslim Brotherhood ties.

    • Trump cancels the Nidal Hasan execution livestream; families of the victims will be invited to watch in person
    • The OCC debanking report: nine largest banks, reputational risk policies, JPMorgan Chase's WePay blacklisting MAGA merchants, and Jamie Dimon's response
    • Debanking cuts both ways (Capital One and an abortion rights group), plus gun sellers and oil companies, and why Erick wants financial risk, not political risk, to decide who gets a bank account (shout-out to Old Glory Bank)
    • Jake Tapper and Elie Honig on the Ilhan Omar search warrant, the Obama-appointed magistrate judge, and the statute of limitations questions
    • Abdul El-Sayed's tense NBC interview over his mother, the Muslim Brotherhood, and what Erick says the record shows

The Erick Erickson Show: S15 EP186: Hour 2 - Inflation Roars Back Oct 15, 2026
    Show notes

It is Open Line Friday on the Erick Erickson Show, and the hour opens with a trucker named Lewis explaining diesel surcharges before CNN's Matt Egan delivers a sizzling Producer Price Index report: 1.3% monthly and 6.3% annual wholesale inflation, with the Iran war, Saudi and Houthi strikes on refineries, and Ukraine all in the mix. Erick breaks down why he still expects Republicans to hold the Senate, weighs in on James Talarico's CNN town hall with undecided Catholic voters, and reacts to the new federal lawsuit against Matt Gaetz. He then makes the case, through the late pastor Tim Keller, that politics has become an idol on both the left and the right.

    • Open Line Friday: a trucker named Lewis on diesel prices, fuel surcharges and the 60 to 90 day pay cycle squeezing small trucking companies
    • CNN's Matt Egan on the Producer Price Index report: 1.3% monthly, 6.3% annual, the biggest jump since 2022, plus Iran, the Saudi and Houthi fighting, Russia sanctions, Ukraine and Zelensky
    • Midterm outlook: why Erick thinks Republicans keep the Senate, Ken Paxton in Texas, and James Talarico's CNN exchange with an undecided Catholic voter on abortion and the Bible
    • The new federal lawsuit against Matt Gaetz, the House Ethics Committee report, and why you should judge people by their friends and not only their critics
    • Tim Keller, Christian nationalists and Abdul El-Sayed: why the gospel is not a category error, why politics can become an idol, and Erick's case against Michigan's Senate Democrat
    • Georgia wins at the 11th Circuit on the Protect Georgia's Children on Social Media Act, and Erick's take on parental responsibility and Snapchat

The Erick Erickson Show: S15 EP186: Hour 3 - Why America’s Military Is Stretched Thin Oct 15, 2026
    Show notes

Erick takes a caller's question about why the U.S. military can no longer fight two wars at once and walks through the Pentagon procurement mess, the Navy's saltwater maintenance problem, cheap drones versus exquisite weapons, and the Trump administration's fortress Western Hemisphere thinking. He defends Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelensky against Russia and Vladimir Putin after the Starlink shutdown and Elon Musk's call for Zelensky to go, then holds up El Salvador and Nayib Bukele as proof that locking up repeat offenders works. Plus Georgia ballot advice, Angie Nixon and Chris Rabb wanting to lock up Republicans, and Abdul El-Sayed's Muslim Brotherhood ties in the Michigan Senate race against Mike Rogers.

    • The two-war military shrinks to one: how Barack Obama's force planning, bloated Pentagon procurement, the defense contractor oligopoly, Navy corrosion on ships like the USS Abraham Lincoln, and drone production (Ukraine at 5 million, the U.S. under 100,000) left America struggling against Iran
    • Zelensky, Putin and Starlink in Ukraine: why Erick says the Pentagon, not Elon Musk, shut off the system, why Ukraine's constitution bars wartime elections, and his warning that appeasing Putin invites a Neville Chamberlain moment
    • What Nayib Bukele's El Salvador teaches about crime: a homicide rate now below France, repeat offenders, and Erick's case for bringing back three strikes laws
    • Midterm races: Georgia down ballot picks including Rick Jackson over Keisha Lance Bottoms, Byron Donalds in Florida, and Angie Nixon and Congressman Chris Rabb saying they want to lock up Republicans while abolishing prisons
    • Abdul El-Sayed and the Michigan Senate race: new video, Mike Rogers, Trump's Friday trips to Georgia and Michigan, and why Erick still thinks Republicans keep the Senate

Giving Ventures: Ep. 119 - Implementing School Choice Oct 15, 2026
    Show notes

Conservative and libertarian donors have made phenomenal gains in the area of education choice over the past 10 years. The question now becomes: how do we defend those gains? There are some phenomenal groups out there that are focused on implementation, particularly with regard to the three big pillars we've identified: 1) the supply of schools; 2) making sure parents know how to opt in their kids; and 3) defending against the onslaught of legal and public relations attention from people who are not keen on school choice.

At a recent event that DonorsTrust hosted in Dallas, we held a conversation on education choice implementation to highlight what's going on. How are we expanding supply? How do we get parents to understand the process here and what are we going to do to defend against the lawsuits and the negative press when it comes? Our panelists were Nathan Cunneen, the State Director for American Federation for Children, American Federation for Children; Lisa Tarshis, Primer Foundation's executive director; and Tom Fisher, who is EdChoice's executive vice president and director of litigation.
