Radical self-acceptance + how to stop hating your body Mar 17, 2020
    Show notes

Please note the content shared in this ep is not personalised and does not replace personalised advice from a mental health or health professional This episode does discuss disordered eating and self-harm, and may be triggering for some.
    Hello everyone!
This episode has been a very highly requested episode from you guys, we are talking about a 2020 glow up on our bodies and the radical self-acceptance we encourage you guys to try this year.
We talk alllllll things body positivity, body acceptance and ways to love your body, we delve into where low self-esteem and body confidence can come from, what messages we are constantly sent and why we unconsciously continue to accept them. We discuss automatic negative thoughts and why it’s important to tune into these to turn into neutral and positive statements
We also discuss whether plastic/cosmetic surgery + body acceptance can co-exist, and in the Fast and the Curious we discuss whether large corporations should be responsible for the messages they send their audiences and whether their narrative of body positivity is completely innocent.
We also answer a listener question on whether you are able to go on a diet healthily without developing disordered eating behaviours + cognitions.

LGBTQI | why we need to care about gender + sexuality in 2020 Feb 25, 2020
    Show notes

    Hello lovely listeners.
As this weekend is the celebration of our LGBTQIA+ community with Mardi Gras, we thought it was incredibly helpful to unpack all things gender and sexuality, and why it's so incredible important to know pronouns, acronyms and develop understanding of the LGBTQI community, especially in 2020.
We also discuss ways to be a good ally and support the people in our life who may identify with the LGBTQI community. We also explore how to seek a good therapist if seeking individual support for LGBTQI concerns.
We also answer a listener question on remaining body positive when surrounded by friends who are not.
    We hope you enjoy!

The science of heartbreak | how to heal a broken heart Feb 18, 2020
    Show notes

    Ahhh yes, heartbreak.
The gut-wrenching, heart-exploding, stomach-dropping feeling that is heartbreak. Your heart feels like it's been ripped out of your chest and you just want to crawl into a hole and live there forever.
In this episode we divulge the scientific, evolutionary and psychological response to heart break, and why it hits us SO hard, and why our physiological responses are slowing down the process of moving on.
We propose a self- healing toolkit + scientifically proven strategies to help with the recovery process, involving a whole lotta netflix, chocolate and burning of clothes.
We also introduce our new segment, The Fast and The Curious where we break down the latest and important news stories of the week, this week it's the moral minefield and the total disregard of the duty of care of Married at First Sight's 'relationship experts'.
We also answer our listener q + a's on boundaries with an ex, and supporting a friend who keeps going back to THAT person.
We hope you enjoy this weeks episode!

New Year, New You? Feb 11, 2020
    Show notes

    Hello fam!
In this episode we discuss why we fail at New Years Resolutions and offer some handy tips and tricks to stay on track. We also discuss why many factors such as previous resolutions, enjoyment, pleasure, personality types and importance of a resolution may predict our adherence to our goals.
We also acknowledge why sometimes New Years resolutions are too idealistic, and perhaps getting out of bed each morning and surviving day-to-day is goals enough. Maybe a New Year means nothing has to change and that is more than enough.
    We hope you enjoy!
