Then, the plaintiff says he was hired to measure the defendants’ septic system, and now they’re refusing to pay up. They’re suing for what they owe him. The defendants say they paid the agreed price, and now he’s asking for more. They refuse to give him additional money.

Driving a Customer Nuts Jun 08, 2023

The plaintiff says she hired the defendant to build five pieces of custom furniture out of walnut, but he only finished one. She’s suing for her money back. The defendant says he was willing to finish the job and spent thousands on walnut. He’s not returning a dime.

Then, the plaintiff says the defendant was a nightmare tenant who damaged his place. He’s suing for the repairs. The defendant says the plaintiff forced him to let 50 people see his place because he was selling it, and they all refused to wear masks. He says the plaintiff also tried to kick him out over his cat, who he had for eight years while living there.

Not Taking Responsibility Jun 07, 2023

The plaintiff says the defendant is his neighbor. He says she scratched his car with her jewelry one day during an altercation with her boyfriend. He says she promised to pay for the damage but never did, so he’s suing. The defendant says it was her ex who scratched the car, not her.

Then, the plaintiff says she rented what she thought was an air-conditioned oceanfront room in the defendant’s house, but the defendant instead put her in a hot, dirty, rat-infested room, so she left. She’s suing for the money she paid. The defendant says the plaintiff arrived early, so she gave her a different room. The plaintiff left, so she doesn’t owe anything.

Dental Dilemma Jun 06, 2023

The plaintiff says he lived with the defendant and helped her out. He says she up and left one day and never repaid him for the dental implants he paid for, so he’s suing. The defendant says she had a crush on the plaintiff, but they had issues and he asked her to leave. She claims the teeth were a gift.

Then, the plaintiff says the defendant hired him to paint the interior of her home. He says she fired him when he was almost done, so he’s suing for what he’s owed. The defendant says the plaintiff got paint on her appliances, and he took several days when it was supposed to be quick. She claims she had to hire someone to fix everything.

Plus, the plaintiffs say they’ve lived peacefully in their home for years, but defendants’ dogs keep digging holes under their fence. They’re suing for the cost of fixing the fence. The defendants say they have two 15-pound dogs that don’t dig, and they allege the fence was in terrible shape when they moved in.

Stealing From a Sister Jun 05, 2023

The plaintiff finally had to cover the repairs, so she’s suing to be reimbursed. The defendants say they worked with the owner to do the repairs and they were completed quickly.

Staying Put Jun 02, 2023

Turning Down a Tenant Jun 01, 2023

The plaintiff says she woke to thick smoke in her kitchen and could not escape because the door was blocked in the apartment she rented on the third floor of a house, so she jumped. She’s out thousands in her belongings, so she’s suing. The defendant says the plaintiff’s lawsuit is crazy because the fire was her fault. She fell asleep while cooking rice in a faulty pot.

Plus, the plaintiff says she bought a mobile home in Florida and had to make upgrades, so she hired the defendant. He took so long that she had to hire someone else, so she’s suing for the deposit back. The defendant says the plaintiff was third in line for repairs, and he insists he did return most of the money and just kept what covered his production costs.

Draining a Customer May 31, 2023

The plaintiff says he hired the defendant to replace a pool liner, but it didn’t fit. The defendant left the pool in disarray and the walls collapsed. He had to hire someone else for the job, so he’s suing for what he paid. The defendant says the plaintiff had bought the wrong liner, and the walls were unstable because there was no water in there.

Then, the plaintiff says she purchased a Mercedes from her neighbor, and they agreed they would come to the final price after the car got checked out. The repairs were $1,500 and the defendant would only pay $250 of that, so she’s suing. The defendant says he sold the plaintiff his mother-in-law’s car and then she showed up with the repair bill weeks later.

Plus, the plaintiff says she rented a room in the defendant’s house month to month, but now he won’t return her security deposit, so she’s suing. The defendant says the plaintiff missed rent one month, so he used the deposit for that.

Take Control of Your Dog, Doggone It May 30, 2023

The defendant says his cousin was visiting from Norway and was walking his rescue when the plaintiff approached them aggressively and got tangled in the leash, and that’s why the scared the 8-pound dog nipped.

Then, the plaintiff says she and the defendant were co-workers and friends who became intimate. He moved in and kept borrowing money without repaying, so she’s suing. The defendant says like any couple, they traded money back and forth, so he owes nothing.

Refusing to be Fenced In May 26, 2023

She brought the car back, they charged her for a diagnostic, and told her she had leaks and a loose wire. She’s suing for what she’s owed back. The defendants say they would have fixed issues they caused, but her issues were unrelated to an oil change and she went on a rant.
