She can coach for helping you improve your experience as a practicing dentist, find a place in the industry that isn’t your current job, or help you move away from dentistry altogether

You can still work one or two days per week in your practice, and start another business or do something you enjoy on the side while making decent money

You only have to live up to the standard that you set for yourself

By being mentally and emotionally okay when you work, you improve the patient experience in your office, so you should make sure you take time for yourself to live life

Don’t worry about what other people would say about your career switch, if you’re confident in yourself, other people will support your choice

You should focus on your ideal life, not just financially, but also emotionally

Figure out what you want, you may be closer to having that than you think

You don’t need to work constantly; you deserve to change your job if you’re unhappy, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise

We think we need the same or more than others, but you need what you need

You have to see if you’re happy where you are, trust your gut on whether or not your career is good for the health of you and your patients

When you’re happier with your job, you will feel wealthier even if you have less money

You can do a lot of things that you want without a lot of money, people often have the misconception that they need money to buy their happiness

You should be frugal, but don’t forget that there is no point in your money if you can’t enjoy it once in a while

There are so many opportunities for the skills you have learned from dentistry, without doing what has been making you depressed

Remember that the people who appear successful have also struggled through things that you haven’t seen

Scanner is lightweight, about 5 oz

A lot of other scanners don’t have compatibility with different laptops, they send a laptop with the scanner, already loaded with the needed programs

Set up takes about 5 minutes out of the box

Laptops should only be used for scanner programs, it can cause issues with the scanner if too many unnecessary programs are loaded on the laptops

They send the laptop so they can release updates for that specific system, and don’t have to worry about different laptops taking the necessary programs differently

Accompanying laptop is professional-grade, and is locked and controlled; laptops can be unlocked if you’re having issues

What you REALLY want to know about embezzlement in dental practices- Prosperident Feb 16, 2021

About 2 million dollars embezzled from one practice

The average that is stolen before they get caught is about $100,000

Be more active in managing the money in your practice

High-achieving dentists have a lot of money and less time to manage that money, which means they are prime targets for stealing from

Act on what your gut tells you to do, investigate if you think something is wrong

CPA’s almost never find embezzlement in practices

Take a more holistic look, don’t base everything about a person on one phenomenon

A lot of embezzlers won’t take a vacation, will reassure you that they don’t need money, will appear to have a sudden increase in money, and will exhibit other major red flags

There is an embezzlement risk form on their website to see how at-risk you are

There is no way to 100% prevent embezzlement

Reviewing the reports your management software gives on your profit is a great way to deter stealing; print out reports yourself, never have them handed to you

It’s a lot like putting an alarm system or locks on your house, you can make it harder or more imposing, but at the end of the day they can still break in

Nobody but the doctor knows that Prosperident is involved

Investigation is performed off-site, it takes about 8 weeks to go through with it, first 2 weeks are gathering information, the other 6 are for monitoring

Prosperident builds a duplicate of your software with your data and looks for a series of patterns that thieves use to steal money, most of these thieves are using more than one way to take from you

A lot of investigating is based on the suspect, and their role in the practice, bookkeepers might have direct access, while others may have to be more sneaky

Prosperident puts more work and attention to detail into investigating than the police can, you can bypass the police and go directly to the DA with your case to speed the legal process up

Up to $25,000 dollars will usually be covered by your insurance under employee dishonesty coverage, they will typically pay in 2-4 weeks

If you don’t suspect anybody, but want to check so as to not become a victim, they will happily do so for you

There can be several independent thefts going on in the same practice, or partnerships

A lot of people don’t understand the value of dentistry is in what they do with their patients

Dentists often lose the fact that they change lives in a way no other professional does

Understanding failure can shape and better you for your planned future is important to your mindset.

Don’t think of yourself as inferior to others because you have flaws, know who you are, and don’t try to mimic others

Put your attention on what really matters to you, practice the things you wish to practice, and base your goals around it

Be who you are and know the lifestyle others have may not be the one you want

Your practice is all about your patients and staff, the more you prioritize them and make them happier, the more your practice will thrive

Make sure that everyone is on the same page, if your team isn’t coordinating, you could cause harm to the mentality of your staff or patients

Make sure that everyone is working with you and not just for you

Listen actively to your team, and use empathy with them

Hire for the potential in people, their personality, and hire for people you and the rest of your team can work with

Money doesn’t mean anything if you aren’t happy

Accept people for who they are and show them that you appreciate them
