We are so grateful for this open, loving community and for Sydelle for sharing Bostyn’s story.”

In this episode, Laura sits down with Sydelle Tungsvik for an incredibly important, moving, inspiring, but also inexplicably hard episode. Sydelle shares the story of her daughter Bostyn's birth. Bostyn was born still at 38 weeks, and it is an honor to share her story, the immeasurable impact she's had on her parents' lives, and the many ways she lives on in light through her parents and the work Sydelle is doing with The Baby Steps Foundation to speak openly about Bostyn and connect with other mamas who've experienced the heartache of loss.

This is an episode we all need to hear. 1 in 160 mothers experience a birth of a still baby, and this conversation and the support for these mamas isn't what it needs to be. Thank you for listening, for supporting, for loving like this community does best. We are so grateful to Sydelle for sharing Bostyn's story and for all of you. Sydelle is a pediatric nurse and wife to Jt who is a police officer in our home city. They were both born and raised in the PNW. Their world has been flipped upside down after their daughter Bostyn died at 38 weeks from a true knot in her cord in February. Since then she has been trying to figure out how to make sense in life all while honoring her daughter.
