    67. Post Betrayal Transformation with Dr. Debi Silber Jan 19, 2021
    Show notes

This week on The Mindful Psychology Podcast, we are joined by Dr. Debi Silber as she takes us through the Post Betrayal Transformation work she founded. Dr. Debi is also a TEDx Speaker and the Founder of the Post Betrayal Institute.

In this episode, Dr. Debi talks to us about what happens when we are betrayed, what we overlook, and how to heal. Moreover, she shows us how to really go deeper into the power of healing and transform post-betrayal. Her term for what happens to us post-betrayal is Post-Betrayal Syndrome.

On top of being an inspiring story, it was also relatable for me, to be honest. I cannot emphasise enough how grateful I am for this interview and for Dr. Debi's work in this focus of the human experience.

    66. The Scapegoat + The Narcissist Jan 12, 2021
    Show notes

    Happy New Year, everyone!

Welcome to a brand new episode and to the first episode of the year!

This week, we are talking about the scapegoat child in the family and the narcissist.

▫️Why are some people more picked on in families?

▫️Why is there a “black sheep”?

▫️Why does one person seem to control everyone’s behaviour?

▫️Is the narcissistic parent jealous of the scapegoat?

▫️How come some people outside of the family start scapegoating the person too?

▫️What does this mean for the scapegoat moving forward?

Narcissistic Abuse is one of my areas of focus and I want to offer some insight into this dynamic this week, as well as provide some considerations for recovery and healing.

    TOPICS COVERED:

    • What it is

    • Why it happens

    • How it shows up

    • Jealousy’s part in the play

    • What can be done

    • How to heal

    • Where to focus your attention and efforts

    and more...

🤍 I want to place enough emphasis on the dynamic that we can see how damaging it is, but also shine light on positive outcomes that have equally been noted.

If you have any general questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ll be doing regular Q+As as well! 🤍

    64. Undieting with Lisa Kilgour Dec 15, 2020
    Show notes

This week on The Mindful Psychology Podcast, we are joined by Lisa Kilgour, a certified Nutritionist and Author.

Lisa will talk to us about diet culture, how it sneaks up on us, and how it has effected our perceptions on dieting and our bodies. She will also give us some tricks and mindfulness practices we can use to reprogram our minds, and make healthier choices without deprivation and guilt. One of my favourite notions is that the guilt we feel when eating something "cheeky" actually blocks us from being able to feel what is happening to our bodies when we are eating. Being able to feel what happens in our bodies, truly, is what will allow us to make choices and have them become second nature and not a dietary "sacrifice".

I'll let Lisa continue and explain everything to you.
