Robbie Kroger is a documentarian and a fierce conservationist. He also just so happens to love hunting. Robbie is the visionary behind the documentary series Blood Origins. Blood Origins is a deeply important series of stories that sets out to portray the lives of hunters. The goal? Robbie wants the collection of stories to serve as a series of inspiration that speaks to why people love hunting & why we should protect it. As you could imagine, the stories that Robbie has himself through recording the show, and hunting in all different corners of the world, are insane. In our episode, we talk about how Robbie got started hunting as a South African immigrant to Mississippi, the legacy that his grandfather passed down to him, and some of the wild stories he's seen first hand through hunting. His documentary series won an award in 2018/2019 from TMVA for Best Hunting Video of the Year, which speaks to the quality of the stories Robbie is able to find and tell. Dom Fusco: Rock Bottom, Establishing Belief, & The Traps for Men in Their 20s | MMP #209 Jul 12, 2023

Dom Fusco found himself in a dark place during his transition from college athletics to establishing himself in the real world. After battling some injuries during college, his resiliency and desires to play collegiate football were tested. While his buddies competed on the field, he quietly worked to regain his health. He struggled. Dom found himself in a place he never wanted to be: partying, injured, and unsure of what the next steps would look like for him. Would he play football again? Dom battled to regain his footing and found himself lost, until one day a buddy of his sent him a Gary V clip that sparked the change he needed to start to rebuild himself and his passion for life. The Gary V clip led to Dom starting podcasting, which led to him to the realization that he had a knack for media. He continued to lean into his passion for health, which ultimately led him to joining the Upspace team just over a year ago. It was a pleasure getting to hear Dom's story and his insights into navigating the early part of his 20s. It's clear he's on a path to do big things, but it didn't come without agonizing through some tough months trying to find his way in this world. Dom is now the host of the Pure Ambition Podcast and one of the Founders of Upspace - an app focused on helping creators in the health and wellness space build communities of value. We feel strongly about supporting the growth of talented young guys with big dreams. Men in their early 20s today are faced with a mounting number of traps that society has set for them, and it's easy to fall into those traps without the proper friend group, motivations, and guidance. That's why we were excited to have on Matt Worthington, a 24 year old author, podcaster, super connector, and entrepreneur based here in Austin. Matt's the author of the book Ultra Productive and host of the Riser Podcast. He's been featured in New York Weekly Magazine and Business Insider. Just an all-around great dude as well!

We were first introduced to Matt through a random encounter at the gym, and have since attended one of his famous Jeffersonian-style dinners he hosts in town to bring together a diverse group of change makers in the Austin area. Matt's maturity and discipline have granted him success early in his 20s, and the fun part is he's just getting started. We wanted to bring Matt on as an example of a young man carving out an unconventional path. He shared his insights into frameworks he's used and lessons he's learned to put him in a place to continue to meet great people and build community in Austin. Angelo Keely found himself in a bad place. At the age of 16, Angelo found himself beaten and stabbed. His abdomen ripped open, Angelo found himself fighting for his life. It marked a turning point in Angelo's life. He had to rebuild himself from scratch from that day forward with very little support. It was on him. Angelo's recovery has led him to many places - silent 10-day meditation retreats, traveling through the Himalayas, living in France, and launching Kion. Angelo's recovery started with improving his diet and lifestyle, but he dabbled in just about everything: barefoot running, yoga, breathwork to martial arts. Angelo turned his trials into triumphs by truly challenging himself to answer the tough questions and keeping an open mind to new experiences to grow. His story of starting Kion epic and inspiring. Joe and Serenity Carr seem to be doing exactly what they were meant to do: building the healthiest baby food company on the market. Both have dealt with their share of health struggles. Both were sick as children, eating readily available junk food and not minding much attention to their health. Serenity and Joe's food choices as children ultimately led to ill health. Serenity struggled with leaky gut and inflammation after her poor diet put her on antibiotics. Joe struggled with a poor diet, which ultimately led to complications when it came to managing his diagnosis with a form of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Both found themselves looking for answers. It wasn't until they discovered the power of the Paleo diet that the light bulb went off: food is medicine. As young parents, Joe & Serenity felt an obligation to feed their family the best food possible, yet when it came to finding baby food they found nothing that met their standards. What started out as a personal need, quickly turned into a serious business opportunity and the creation of their business: Serenity Kids. As you'll hear during our conversation, we discussed each of their journeys to finding good health, overcoming adversity in life and business, and the spiritual practice of entrepreneurship & starting a family.
