Episode #255 - Writers' Room: Freedom Five #475 Jul 11, 2023

Show notes

A new Citizen?!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:35:40

It's been a while since we've talked about Citizen Dawn related stuff. Can she survive this return to her stories?! Villainy is afoot!

This story has a decent amount of musing and live creation, and I think that's nice! Do you enjoy that sort of thing? We hope so!

Join us next week for Editor's Note #69, and if you're part of the Letters Page Patreon, join us this Friday for the livestream... but not at the normal time of 11 AM, no no! This Friday's livestream will be at 3:00 PM, Central time! We hope you can join us for it!

Episode #254 - Writers' Room: Prime Wardens Vol. 1 #171-173 Jul 04, 2023

Show notes

Ambuscade is gonna win!

And also, a second cover!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:38:41

We try to skip the banter, and only sort of succeed. Places to be! Stories to tell! And tell, we do!

Lots of Ambuscade questions. This Ansel G. Moreau guy is popular!

Join us next week for Episode #255, all about the Citizens of the Sun Civil War!

Episode #253 - Writers' Room: Cosmic Tales Vol. 2 #536 Jun 27, 2023

Show notes

This episode is a bit shorter than average these days... but we talk about several issues of Sentinel Comics, so that makes up for it, right?

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:10:51

We start off with some jokes, some banter, that sort of thing, but then we gotta get down to business! Stories to be told!

The original prompt was "Greazer in La Comodora's brig". Did we answer that prompt? We certainly attempt to do so! Several times! But... did we do it!? Who can say.

Want more access? Want to make decisions about the future of The Letters Page Sure you do! That sounds fun, right? Join our Patreon community and make the important choices about what we do next!

Join us next week for an event called "La Gloire!" Hear us attempt and fail to smoothly pronounce French words! What more could you ask for?

Editor's Note #68 Jun 20, 2023

Show notes

Note note note note!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:25:06

Before getting into Meta questions and Meta Meta questions, we are once again awed at how long we've been doing this, then do some goofs, and finally talk about the schedule!

Upcoming schedule:

Tuesday, July 4th: Episode #254 - Writers' Room: Ambuscade vs the Prime Wardens
Tuesday, July 11th: Episode #255 - Writers' Room: Citizens of the Sun Civil War
Tuesday, July 18th: Editor's Note #69
Tuesday, July 25th: Episode #256 - Writers' Room: The Scholar encounters Darkstrife and Painstake

Then we answer questions, both from letters and from the chat!

Speaking of the chat, those who get to attend live by being Patreon supporters get to see us do an extra 10-20 minutes of stuff before the show recording starts, including some (bad) drawing and additional goofs. Today's episode pre-show included a surprise special guest that genuinely surprised Adam! Trevor captured Adam's reaction perfectly with this screenshot:

It's Nolan Nasser! Want to know more? Patreon supporters don't just get access to the live shows — they can go back and watch the streams from every live show, not just the ones in the time they've been a supporter! So joining now gives you access to the rest of this episode's video, plus all other videos from as far back as we've been doing them! Just something to consider.

See you next week for Episode #253 - Writers' Room: Greazer in La Comodora's Brig!

Episode #252 - Writer's Room: Mystery Comics Vol. 2 #93 Jun 13, 2023

Show notes

It's gritty time!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:30:13

We start with some goofs and chats, and then we get right into it, telling a story designed to make you feel good about the world and humanity! All is well!

A note on that brilliant cover that Adam drew and the name of the episode. During the episode, we posited just when the issue might land, and we were mostly right, but off by a little. Fortunately, our eagle-eyed listeners noticed an issue while Adam was livestreaming his drawing of that cover, which gave us the opportunity to shift the issue number slightly, clearing up any potential conflicts. So, that is accurately Issue #93 of Vol. 2 of Mystery Comics!

Join us next week for an Editor's Note, and if you're on the Letters Page Patreon, you can join us this Friday morning at 11 AM Central for the live recording of said Editor's Note!

Episode #251 - Writers' Room: Justice Comics #58 Jun 06, 2023

Show notes

Our earliest story ever! And it even has a backup story! Let's get golden!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:22:00

We do some banter, then tell some tales! We know a lot about this one, but there are still many details that can be discovered on the air, and we seek them out! Plus some unexpected twists!

A shorter question section than usual, but that's OK! It happens sometimes.

If you haven't seen the cover for this episode, I highly recommend checking it out! It's the earliest cover Adam has drawn, so far. The covers are always in the show notes, and some podcast apps show them, but others don't. But they're always visible at our website!

Episode #250 - Writers' Room: Justice Comics #571-573 May 30, 2023

Show notes

THREE issues today? Yes! But only one cover. You'll have to listen to the cover section to find out why!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:21:01

Happy Birthday tomorrow, Adam! And we hope that everyone enjoys International Same Age Day this Thursday!

This episode went by quickly, mostly because we had a lot of the pieces already, and the stuff we didn't have was just all kinds of fun. Adam helps Christopher get through his impending mental breakdown. We'll see how much longer he has in him before he's overtaken by the Void itself!

We also answer a bunch of questions, as is our wont. And we talk about a cover! Really, we talk about three, but that's giving away too much.

Editor's Note #67 May 23, 2023

Show notes

It was a live show! Now it's just dead audio. :C

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:42:59

Warning! This episode is pretty goof-heavy. Lots of goofs. You've been warned.

Here's the upcoming schedule:

Tuesday, June 6th: Episode #251 - Writers' Room: Heroic Proletariat
Tuesday, June 13th: Episode #252 - Writers' Room: Fanatic & The Organization
Tuesday, June 20th: Editor's Note #68
Tuesday, June 27th: Episode #253 - Writers' Room: Greazer in La Comodora's Brig

We answer lots of questions on such a wide variety of topics. It gets wild. Listen and find out!

Join us next week for the last episode of Adam's birth-month: Episode #250 - Writers' Room: Scavenger Unity!

Episode #249 - Creative Process: Rambler Foes May 16, 2023

Show notes

It's Ramblin' time!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:57:21

There's much to explain about this fellow still, and we get into a bunch of it! Some foes are created, many questions are answered, and there are even a few goofs! There's a lot to get through, and we manage to make it work! Whew!

Join us next week — or live this Friday if you're on the Letters Page Patreon — for Editor's Note #67!
