Show notes

Whoa, it's been a LONG time since we talked about Tarogath!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:31:11

Adam's birth month continues with more creative processes! This episode involves as much recalling, restating, reframing, and re-explaining as it does creating, but sometimes that's what it's all about!

Join us next week for ANOTHER Creative Process, this one all about the foes of the mysterious Rambler! Because you demanded it! If you want to make demands, consider joining the Letters Page Patreon!

Episode #247 - Creative Process: Fashion Foes May 02, 2023

Show notes

Christopher's voice is compromized, but he's still gonna come up with bad guys!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:32:49

It's the first week of Adam's birth month, and we're happy to be here! We're off to the races with this one — been a long time coming, and we didn't really do any prep work (other than sneaky stuff last week... but you'll have to listen to find out what that means) so you're getting all this mostly uncut! From the Golden Age to very modern, indeed!

Also, there's a fun cameo in the letters section! Enjoy!

Join us next week for ANOTHER Creative Process, this one about Lifeline's supporting cast!

Episode #246 - Writers' Room: Freedom Five #445-447 Apr 25, 2023

Show notes

We've got three action packed issues coming at you!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:40:57

We tell the story of the Citizen Dawn Event from Definitive Edition Sentinels of the Multiverse! Then, we go on to answer a bunch of questions, both about Citizen Dawn and about the recently revealed Grimm!

Also, check out this very cool crowdfunding campaign, in German!

Join us next time to kick off Adam's birth month with one of many Creative Processes!

Editor's Note #66 Apr 18, 2023

Show notes

A note! From Editors! For Editors? BY Editors?! Who can say!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:43:49

There was a lot of great interaction from the chat on this one, which means that even though we recorded for over 2 hours, Trevor cut a lot of Bad Radio and this episode is a reasonable length. Whew!

Upcoming schedule!

Tuesday, May 2nd: Episode #247 - Creative Process: Fashion Foes
Tuesday, May 9th: Episode #248 - Creative Process: Lifeline Supporting Cast
Tuesday, May 16th: Episode #249 - Creative Process: Rambler Foes
Tuesday, May 23rd: Editor's Note #67
Tuesday, May 30th: Episode #250 - Writers' Room: Scavenger Unity

When we finally get into letters, we acknowledge that we were wrong to do rules rulings on the air. Whoops! We'll still take letters about rules questions, but we'll answer them with more care and oversight. Thanks!

We still have lots of Rook City Renegades stuff to talk about, and we do! Listen and find out!

Catch you next time for Episode #246 about the Citizen Dawn event with an alien artifact on Insula Primalis! Get your questions in now!

Episode #245 - Writers' Room: Virtuoso of the Void Vol. 2 #50 Apr 11, 2023

Show notes

Someone's about to have a bad day!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:35:25

The prompt for this episode was "a hero turned villain", and we start off by going through many instances of this in Sentinel Comics, before getting down to the business of ruining a perfectly good hero. Greater than good, in fact! It's a real shame.

The Disparation campaign went well! VERY well! Thank you to everyone who joined in! If you missed it, don't worry — we'll have the preorder store thing up in the not-too-distant future where you can join in late. Become a "slacker backer", if you will. Will you? Won't you? Would you? We hope so.

See you next time for an Editor's Note! Join us live this Friday at 11 AM Central time if you're a Patreon supporter!

Episode #244 - Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 3 #126 Apr 04, 2023

Show notes

Let's get wild... wild west!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:17:42

We start off by talking about... legislation?! Yeah, OK, weird, but look. It's scary out there. We're concerned.

Then we do some math. Sorry.

Then! We talk a bit about the Sentinels of the Multiverse: Disparation BackerKit campaign that is currently ongoing but about to finish up! Check it out while you can!

And finally, we tell a story. Or! A few stories! Pretty cool stuff, if we do say so ourselves. And we do. Emphatically.

Join us next week for an episode about a Hero turned Villain!

Episode #243 - Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 2 #214 Mar 28, 2023

Show notes

We finally get to talk about [redacted]!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:25:00

We've been just vibrating with excitement to finally talk about the subject of this episode... and you're just going to have to listen to find out!

We hope you enjoy it, and we look forward to fielding your many questions about this newly revealed very old character!

Near the end of the episode, Adam plugs a comic he's into, which I wrote about in one of the Disparation BackerKit updates last week! Read about Principles, and then check out Impossible Jones!

See you next time!

Editor's Note #65 Mar 21, 2023

Show notes

Good morning, everybody!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:27:28

We do some goofs at the beginning, as per usual! You know how it goes!

Let's talk about the upcoming schedule!

Tuesday, April 4th: Episode #244 - Writers' Room: A Silver Gulch Story
Tuesday, April 11th: Episode #245 - Writers' Room: A Hero turned Villain
Tuesday, April 18th: Editor's Note #66
Tuesday, April 25th: Episode #246 - Writers' Room: Alien Artifact on Insula Primalis (which is the Citizen Dawn event from the core game)

Listen to those episodes! More importantly, submit questions for those episodes! I would tell you to get questions in for next week's episode (Tuesday, March 28th: Episode #243: Writers' Room: Sentinel Comics Horror Host for Tome of the Bizarre), but we've already recorded that episode! So, questions for next month, it is!

Also, while I'm issuing directives, also check out Sentinels of the Multiverse: Disparation on BackerKit! It's going really well!

See you next time!

Episode #242 - Mystery Comics Vol. 2 #350 Mar 14, 2023

Show notes

What the heck? WHERE the heck?!?!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:32:27

We're doing some experimental cooking in today's episode! Metaphorically speaking, that is. Spite is best used sparingly, especially since he's so often, uh, expired. And Rambler is still a relatively new flavor for us, so this... soufflé... might be different from other soufflés you've had, but we're still proud of it! (OK, that metaphor got entirely away from me. I regret nothing!)

Join us for stories, questions, answers, and more! And, if you're a member of The Letters Page Patreon, join us this Friday at 11 AM Central time for a live show! If you're not a member of The Letters Page Patreon, consider becoming a Contributor today! If you do, and then ping me in the Discord (if you're not sure how to, the kind and enthusiastic folks there will be more than happy to show you the proverbial ropes), I'll do an extra reveal there of content for the currently ongoing Sentinels of the Multiverse: Disparation crowdfunding campaign! I'm not into killing any number of birds with any number of stones, so let's say that's like petting two cats with one hand. Much better.

Episode #241 - Creative Process: The Naturalist & Akash'Thriya Foes Mar 07, 2023

Show notes

Let's get natural!

Show Notes:

Run Time: 1:58:14

We have a variety of ideas for foes, and we don't even explore all the ideas we mention! That fine — this episode ended up coming in on the long side, anyway.

You asked us a bunch of questions! We answer many of them! Keep asking more! We like it.

Join us next week for a Writers' Room episode about Rambler vs. Spite!

Oh, and about an hour after this episode goes live, the Sentinels of the Multiverse: Disparation campaign goes live!
