Introverts are often misunderstood. People make assumptions about introverts that often are just not true. Introverts and extroverts see and experience the world differently. Even some common words we all use have different meanings to an introvert than they do to extrovert.

Writing a book: interview with Illistrator and author Katie Nov 05, 2019
    Show notes

Today's interview is with Katie, an illustrator from Upstate New York. She also authored and illustrated a book for Introverts. The Escape Manual for Introverts is a humorous, illustrated book about how to get out of certain social situations as an introvert. It explores the awkwardness of everyday life for introverts, guiding readers through different scenarios that introverts often dread, such as being trapped on an airplane with a chatterbox or hosting a dinner party with people who just won’t leave. From family to friends and from karaoke night to group lunchtime, a number of escapes and excuses are offered for the awkward and funny encounters introverts have every day.

Boundaries Are Not Walls To Break Down Oct 22, 2019
    Show notes

The difference between boundaries and walls came up with a client recently, and I started asking other people about it too. As you might know, I’m a big advocate for setting healthy boundaries so that people won’t take advantage of you and you can save time and energy, be able to take care of yourself, and simply have energy for the important things. It seems like some people see boundaries as walls.

    You're Not For Everyone Oct 15, 2019
    Show notes

Not everyone can be friends. That might be a little hard for some people to swallow, especially since nobody actively tries not to fit in and least of all those of us who are in the margin. It hurts, it sucks, and it seems unfair.

Branding and Teaching Workshops: Interview with Mariely Oct 01, 2019
    Show notes

I had Marielle on the show all the way from Puerto Rico. We met in She Podcasts on Facebook. She is an introvert who is a Branding Strategist and podcaster. We talked about how she got into both things, as well as teaching workshops. I have thought about doing workshops too, but didn’t know how to get started. I love hearing how other people, especially introverts, do things. I don’t know anything about coaching or branding, and I’m just getting into the world of seminars and that kind of thing. It was great to hear from someone who is further along in that process.

One Foot In This World Sep 24, 2019
    Show notes

As introverts, we love being in our heads. We have such vivid imaginations. We love to think through things, create stories, and try new things. I sometimes feel like it’s harder for introverts to do certain things because we always only have one foot in the present. I know I always have other things going on in my head, like big dreams of how I want my life to be, traveling, and writing fiction books. If my mind and body aren’t engaged enough in the here and now, my mind will wander.

We Are Not Children Sep 17, 2019
    Show notes

We don’t act or see things the same way as others. Just because we are all not quick witted or up for emotional debates at any time does not make up slow or uneducated. Some Introverts just need more time to process.

Sorry, All People Are Draining Sep 10, 2019
    Show notes

There are a few things that introverts have a hard time explaining, or things that other people tend to take personally. One of the biggest things I find hard to explain is that all people are draining no matter what. For a lot of people, those that they find draining are for a reason, such as that person is selfish, boring, or needy. It’s someone who they don’t want to be around or wouldn’t be around if they had the choice.
