016: Two Habits to Build to Help You Avoid Procrastination Apr 16, 2022
    Show notes

Admittedly, I thought procrastination was only associated with things that have deadlines. I may not have limited it entirely to things with deadlines, but I definitely did not think procrastination was a part of my life. All of the things on my to-do list that I delayed and put off for a long time, I didn't consider that procrastination since it didn't have a deadline. But it is. My realization lit a fire under me to break those habits and start building a foundation that helps me get things done sooner rather than saving everything to do later, which is what contributes greatly to my overwhelm! If this feels like anything you'd relate to, please listen in to start changing your habits!

There are so many stories in my life where I've dreamt about something BIG in my life, and if I didn't initiate the forward progress, nobody else would do it for me. Step One is recognizing that you are still sitting static in your safe place. Step Two is understanding that all the responsibility falls on you to make something a reality! The beauty in a community is that many people will surround you and encourage you with what you're working towards. They will be able to help you in the ways they are capable of, but that is not 100% of the timeline. You are the primary subject for 100% of the timeline. Figure out how you can be active with your ownership of these dreams, and make them come true!

It gives you the ability to avoid the ones that you're really dreading, whether you hate going to the DMV (just me?), or you just don't want to scrub the yogurt off of the walls near the baby's high chair (also just me?).
