This episode is well worth a listen if you find yourself wishing you could look like a fitness professional or influencer because you can't look like them, but you can look MORE like them if you do what Peter says.

Peter waffles about the level of effort required for you to get the results you want.
It's probably higher than the fitness industry, and weightloss industry, wants you to believe and they're doing that deliberately. The problem is that it sets unrealistic expectations and sets you up to fail. In fact, the health and fitness (and weightloss) industry is built around you failing.
This podcast is well worth a listen.

Peter waffles about the Ariel "How to pod" commercial. He hates it with a passion until he realises the life-lesson it contains! This is a must listen if ever there was one.
He also touches on expectations again after getting an email from someone who has been working with a PT for 6 months and is not happy about the results.
Quote for the week "Saying you're not training during the lockdown because you can't get to the gym is like saying your kids not studying because schools are shut."

The level of effort and sacrifice required to get to that very top is usually significantly more than people think it is.
He also spends some time talking about the "Stretch mat" which he's a little bit obsessed by...it's £200!!

Peter waffles about the question of access to post-natal health advice and care. If women don't discuss things like Diastasis Recti with eachother how will this stuff ever become widely available to all women?
He also has some advice for a husband who emailed in asking how he could get his wife to do the exercises to help heal her Diastasis Recti. "DON'T!" kind of sums it up

Diastasis Recti and Obesity Jun 14, 2020

Peter waffles about obesity and Diastasis Recti. Are obese people more likely to have DR? Is there a causal link or are they seperate issues?
He also makes the point that GPs might want to lay off the weightloss "advice" during the 6 week check-up. It would be much more useful to inform obese women that they have Diastasis Recti and there are exercises that will help heal that.

"Why hasn't my Diastasis Recti healed after a year even though I've been exercising?"
"I just gave birth to my 3rd 2 weeks ago and my body is a mess. I have Diastasis Recti, my stomach looks horrible, and my back really hurts. Will it ever get back to normal?"

High reps vs Low Reps and Heavy Weight Vs Lighter Weights Jun 03, 2020

Peter waffles about Rep ranges, big weights vs small weights. What is best for the post-natal woman, and why we do what we do. Do you need the strength to lift a tantrum throwing toddler off the ground? Then why only use light weights in training?
If you need to lift anything for a longer duration then why would you only do low reps?
