Puppetmaster X Dec 08, 2022

Show notes

This week we are talking "Puppetmaster X" which made us wonder for the 1st time ever, "How are there 9 others?". This sequel is towards the bottom for watching, but it's at the top for giving us things to discuss. We talked about the lack of seeing the puppets, the fact they don't speak, our mutual admiration of Sarge, Leech Woman, and so much more.

The next sequel that will be discussed is "Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker", and for it, I chatted with Actor Van Quattro. Van is someone who didn't find acting until it sorta was brought up to him by a friend. Van talked his love of acting, roles over the years, traveling to Europe on a whim, and more. Fun chat.

Actor Martin Harris (Stranger Things/Amsterdam/The Gray Man) Dec 01, 2022

Show notes

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Puppetmaster X" and for it, I interviewed Actor Martin Harris. In the movie, Martin plays a soldier, but he was such an interesting interview because of his journey to Hollywood from Poland with stops in Germany, covering the NBA in Europe, performing at the Comedy Store, and more. Also, I loved the other jobs he does in tv and film besides acting like being a dialect coach since he speaks multiple languages. I had a blast talking with Martin about acting, comedy, the Stranger Things prison scene, the NBA, and more.

Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare Nov 10, 2022

Show notes

This week we are talking "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" which is another sequel that set out to be the last (but not really). This movie had a lot for us to discuss like the confusion of when they are dreaming vs when they are awake, the lack of deaths, the creepy carnival, the recovery shelter that looked like it was abandoned, and more. No matter if you liked this movie or not, we can all agree that Robert Englund knocks it out of the park. This was a blast to discuss.

The next sequel that will be discussed is "Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood", which is the 1st time that Kane Hodder donned the mask. It's Carrie vs Jason with some great characters and Bernie Lomax as a bad guy. For it, I chatted with Actress and Writer Staci Greason. Staci played Jane in Friday the 13th Part VII, but most people know her as Isabella Toscano from Days of Our Lives. We talked about being on a hit soap opera for so many years, her new book "All the Girls in Town", and more. The link to her website is https://www.stacigreason.com/

Special FX Artist Jeffrey S Farley (The Blob 1988/Demolition Man/Wolf) Nov 03, 2022

Show notes

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" and for it, I was lucky enough to chat with Special FX Artist Jeffrey S Farley. Jeffrey's work in Freddy unfortunately was mostly cut, but he has worked on so many epic projects over the years like The Blob Remake, Demolition Man, lots of Full Moon Features, Wolf, and lots more. Jeffrey talks about how seeing the 70s flick "Equinox" changed his life forever. What I enjoyed most is the tight-knit SFX community because Jeffrey knew everyone that we interviewed in the past and had great things to say. Great chat.

Next up is our review of "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" this one has some iconic deaths in it, some bizarre cameos, a script that was almost used that was written by Peter Jackson, and more. It's free on Tubi.

Halloween: Resurrection Oct 27, 2022

Show notes

This week we are talking about "Halloween: Resurrection" which is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween, even though it's not the best installment. This movie had a lot to discuss and we brought back Nick Sbordone to help us out. We discussed the reality theme used in the movie, the quick kills, Dangertainment, Henry Rowengartner, Tyra Banks, and more. Happy Halloween!

The next sequel that will be discussed is "Freddy's Dead The Final Nightmare", not the best Freddy, BUT it did give us a chance to chat with SFX artist Jeffrey Farley. Jeff started his SFX at a young age and then went on to work on The Blob, Freddy's Dead, Stay Tuned, Full Moon movies, and more. Jeff was a great guy who loves what he does and knew he wanted to do this forever.

Stuntman Brad Loree (Michael Myers in Halloween: Resurrection) Oct 20, 2022

Show notes

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Halloween: Resurrection and for it, I had the honor of interviewing Michael Myers himself, played by Stuntman Brad Loree. Brad talks about the process of landing that role, almost playing Jason Voorhees, how former guest Ken Kirzinger helped him into the biz, Jack Lemmon, and more. More of a fun conversation, than an interview. Enjoy.

Next up is our review of "Halloween: Resurrection" this might not be the controversial entry now with Ends, but it has a great cast and Tyra Banks.

Exorcist 2 Oct 13, 2022

Show notes

This week we are talking about "Exorcist II" which is known to be one of the worst sequels of all time by movie lovers and they are right! This movie marks the 2nd sequel we covered of Oscar-winner, the late-great Louise Fletcher which didn't end up too well, the other being Grizzly II. This movie was so bad that we brought in a friend of the podcast Peter, who has a podcast called Fan2Fan (which we guested on earlier in the year and talked sequels). Peter helped us discuss why crutches are good for putting out fires, James Earl Jones dressed like a locust, a very awkward scene, the odd extras playing in the background of scenes, and lots more.

This is a video review you can watch at sequelsonly.com/Exorcist2

Check out Pete's Fan2Fan Podcast at https://linktr.ee/Fan2Fan

The next sequel that will be discussed is Halloween Resurrection. We have been lucky enough to interview Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, and Psycho Cop, but now we have a Michael Myers to add to that list in Brad Loree. While interviewing Ken Kirzinger, he told me he was friends with Brad, so I ask him to connect us and he came through. Brad talked about how he got into doing stunt work, how Ken helped his career, playing Michael Myers, ALMOST playing Jason Voorhees, and more. Awesome guy and fun conversation

Hollywood Bug Wrangler Steven R Kutcher (Exorcist II/Hocus Pocus/Arachnophobia) Oct 06, 2022

Show notes

The next sequel we are reviewing is "Exorcist II” and for it, I interviewed Hollywood's go-to Bug Wrangler of the 80s/90s/00s, Steven R Kutcher. Steven is an entomologist who was recommended by his professor to work on Exorcist II and the rest is history. Steven worked on Wonder Woman, Arachnophobia, Hocus Pocus, Jurassic Park, Spiderman, and so much more. Steven even introduced us to Rosie, who is the first spider to be a guest! Great chat about bugs and how to Steven gets them to do some pretty amazing things on film.
