The past two days, I've done my best to ignore the most contentious battle of our lifetime, the presidential election. I believe for the right reason which is my mental health. The outcome of this election will determine the direction of the soul of our country, how we sincerely decide to begin to heal, and simply considering the millions of lives that are at stake. So this week, I somewhat kept in tow with focusing on our mental health and controlling what we can control. Licensed Mental Health Therapist, Danielle Moore, and host, Cameo King, share 4 specific approaches to take into the next 4 years, regardless of the outcome.

For many of us, we are just now coming into the celebration and appreciation of our Blackness. This includes our dialect, our hair, our faith, and the entirety of our culture. But this revelation was decades in the making, and it is not coming easy. Many of us are still forced to fight against internalized oppression which is a result of centuries of racism. Unfortunately, it often shows up as anti-Blackness in the lives of Black people. Listen to this revealing confession with author and life coach, Tamika Thomas of "How Anti-Blackness showed in my life."

One of the most pressing questions we are faced with, as this year comes to a close, is when will America "open back up?" And honestly, I believe the better question is will we be ready? Because believe it or not, COVID and racism have revealed the inequities and ineptitude of many of our systems. So I decided to sit down with the Ingham county health department in Lansing, Michigan's capital about the lessons learned and the new normal of health for Black & Brown residents.

Well this week, Leslie Antonoff of Hautemommie and I, try to close that gap between loving Jesus and being sexual (a.k.a a human). #JudgeUsIfYouWAnt

    Show notes

Black women have been at the center of many conversations for the past week. Everyone from Beyoncé, to the rappers, Meg the Stallion & Cardi B, to Kamala Harris. And it's been a lot!

And overall, what I've found is that we really don’t love free Black women like we claim we do.

But rather we love what free Black women can do for us.

I am defining a free Black woman is someone who is unapologetic in her evolution and shows up to the world as she deems fit specifically for her well being.

So this week, I am briefly sharing why America doesn’t love Black women, specifically free black women.
