Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991) Oct 09, 2024

Show notes

Is this our highest-rated nostalgia movie that we done so far? We were all just babies when this movie came out but it wowed us and entertained us in ways we could never have imagined. But 30+ years later, does it still hold up? It’s going to be tough with so much going against it in our modern-day review- Vanilla Ice, Moms Agains Fun Films (MUFFS), a quick turnaround and no Bebop and Rocksteady? Enjoy!

Ghostbusters (1984) - ReIssue Oct 04, 2024

Show notes

**This episode was released on Oct 20, 2021

There’s something strange in the neighborhood. So let’s slide down the fire pole, fire up our unlicensed nuclear accelerator proton packs, and make our clients feel uncomfortable! The Ghostbusters became an instant classic, but with an all star cast, questionable special effects, and enough evil psychokinetic energy to make any regular Twinkie seem tiny, does this film still hold up? Time to get this key master and gate keeper together and show this prehistoric b*tch how we do thing downtown.

Little Giants (1994) Oct 02, 2024

Show notes

It’s time to head back to the mid 90s to a time where hollywood executives wanted you to believe that it didn’t matter how big, strong and athletic you were. As long as you had a first-time coach who knows nothing about the sport and you utilize trick plays, you can and most certainly will beat the best team in the land. We are of course talking about 1994’s Little Giants.

American Beauty (1999) Sep 25, 2024

Show notes

American Beauty came out in 1999 and clearly struck a chord with filmgoers. It became the talk of the nation and ended up winning 5 Oscars including best picture. 25 years later, do we all still feel the same way about it? Are we still inspired by Ricky’s story about the plastic bag? Are we making mental notes about our own meaningless lives because of Lester’s commentary on suburbia and middle age? Or are we feeling slightly confused and wondering what we ever saw in this flick? Regardless, it’s still the 77th highest rated movie on IMDB, so it has to have something special going on, right?
