Wet Hot American Summer (2001) Aug 07, 2024

Show notes

On today's brand NEW episode, we discuss a movie that is the true definition of a cult classic. Many years after it's release, the majority of the actors have gone on to major acting careers, which helped spawned a prequel series and a sequel series on Netflix. We have referenced this movie maybe 20+ times over the last 4 years but is it as funny as we remember it? We are of course talking about 2001’s Wet Hot American Summer

Uncle Buck (1989) - ReIssue Aug 02, 2024

Show notes

In honor of the 35th anniversary of this movie, we decided to re-release our original movie review from August 16, 2021. Is there a big sexy guy in here?? The demigod, John Candy, partners with one of the 80's most iconic directors, John Hughes, to bring us a larger than life comedy. Can the stand out performances of Candy, Culkin, and company, be enough to salvage a classic fish out of water scenario? Can John Hughes create enough space for Candy's first major lead AND make it out from under his own Brat-pack shadow? either way, one things for sure... he's cooking our garbage.

Rookie of the Year (1993) Jul 24, 2024

Show notes

We decided to record this episode in front of a LIVE studio audience at The Lincoln Lodge in Chicago, IL. This movie is the true sweet spot of this podcast. The 90s charm and nostalgia of Rookie of the Year really shines in this modern day review. Is wearing jeans to play baseball an embarrassment? Is Daniel Stern one of the funniest actors of all-time? Do you actually believe that Gary Busey is a baseball player? Where was DNR when they were on their dangerous and illegal boat? We answer all of this and so much more.
