Gremlins (1984) Dec 11, 2024

Show notes

It’s officially Christmas season, so why not start it off with a bang! Gremlins was the 4th highest grossing film of the year in 1984 and spawned a whole franchise after it’s surprising success. Did this movie single-handedly help create the PG-13 rating? Is this more of a Christmas movie than Die Hard? Did one of these scene inspire Tarantino to write Inglourious Basterds? Where are the parents?

Blade (1998) Nov 27, 2024

Show notes

This movie really needs no introduction and it's a wonder why we waited so long to do it. Is it a Thanksgiving movie? No. But are you going to be using a blade to cut your turkey soon? Ehh? Ehhhh?!?! Coincidence or not- this movie taught us to avoid "Blood Raves". That sunscreen and motorcycle helmets protect vampires from exploding and that Wesley Snipes is the ultimate bad-ass. Join us as we give a modern day review of 1998's Blade.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) - ReIssue Nov 25, 2024

Show notes

This is a re-airing from November 24, 2021. The definitive Thanksgiving movie, right?? The travel, the trouble, the good the bad, and laughably maddening scenarios that can only come from the mind of John Hughes. With two comedic giants at the forefront, does this buddy-travel movie hold up and speak through generational lapses? What’s Neal’s wife’s problem? What’s in Del’s trunk?? How many f**ks does it take to f**k yourself? All this and more while we break down Planes, Trains, and automobiles.
