Ashley lives with her husband and two boys near Dallas, Texas, and she's going to be sharing a lot of insight from a very professional TPT business owner.

Top Score Writing with Lisa Collum May 06, 2020
    Show notes

Are you ready to hear my favorite interview that I've done to date? I had the privilege of interviewing Lisa Collum, creator and CEO of Top Score Writing and let me just say, you do not want to miss this interview. Lisa is a true writing rockstar, but more importantly, she knows how to run a business like a CEO teacher!

15 years ago, Lisa Collum was working at a Title One school and became frustrated watching countless students fail or struggle with writing on standardized tests. There simply wasn't a curriculum available that focused on her real writing skills, which ultimately hurt the students and teachers. So Lisa studied the Common Core areas that students struggled with the most and developed a curriculum all on her own.

In less than a year, Lisa was able to turn her class around from nearly all failing to achieving a 100% pass rate. Lisa was able to do that with class after class, regardless of how much the students had struggled in the past. Soon, every teacher in the school was demanding Lisa's curriculum and Top Score Writing was born.

Top Score Writing has since grown to include full teacher curriculums for grades second through 12th as well as student workbooks, digital curriculum, scoring, and training. Today,Top Score Writing remains the only proven system that makes teaching writing easier, students learning faster, and is proven to achieve a 70% increase in writing test scores on average.

In this episode, you will learn:

    • How Lisa started her business
    • What Top Score Writing has grown into today
    • Lisa's favorite way to market her business and how you can do this too
    • Lisa's best piece of advice for teachers just getting started out in their business

How Teachers Can Benefit from the Stimulus Package with Casey Graham Apr 10, 2020
    Show notes

This is a special edition of The CEO Teacher® Podcast that is needed so much in a time like this. This episode is for any teacher, teacherpreneur or anyone who is in your life that could have been affected by Covid-19. In this time of uncertainty and craziness, we are in this together. We have been given one of the most valuable things right now and that is time itself. But if your family has been impacted by this, this episode is for you.

I interviewed a great friend of mine, Casey Graham, the owner of Gravy Solutions. We have partnered with Gravy Solutions over the past year and they help us with our customer retention in our course and memberships.

Casey Graham is the co-founder and CEO of Gravy, the leading failed payment recovery and customer retention solution for companies with recurring revenue.

He recently kicked off Gravycast after previously inspiring a wide audience through The Seven Figure CEO podcast, the first and only podcast to interview leaders of companies over seven figures about breaking through business growth barriers. Prior to launching Gravy, Casey is known for founding the Rocket Company, an organization that helped church leaders scale their financial leadership and fundraising.

The company grew quickly from 2008 to 2015 and was on the INC 5,000 list three years in a row. In late 2015 a capital venture group approached Casey to acquire the Rocket Company, and in February, 2016 the company sold. Casey's passion for entrepreneurship and bold vision for leadership are the driving force behind his energetic and engaging presence, both on and off the stage.

In this episode, you will learn:

    • What is happening for small business owners now during to the Covid-19 situation
    • The best ways you can benefit from this stimulus package
    • What to do to apply for money to help your business
    • Why everyone should take advantage of this stimulus package
    • What you can be doing during this time to show empathy to your customers
