The Context of White Supremacy hosts the second study session on Catherine Pelonero's 2017 publication, Absolute Madness: A True Story of a Serial Killer, Race, and a City Divided. With the massacre of nearly two dozen students and teachers in Texas this week, Payton Gendron Jr.'s White Terrorist attack in Buffalo, New York is old news. Although, Gendron allegedly planned to murder as many black people as possible before carrying out an antiblack slaughter with 13 people shot, and ten deaths, we quickly forget black Victims of Racism. Speaking of amnesia, It's been nearly two weeks since the carnage, and Gus has yet to hear any major media outlet utter a syllable about Joseph G. Christopher and Buffalo's history of White Supremacist and antiblack terrorism. During our debut reading of Pelonero's work, Gus and listeners were stupefied to learn that Christopher began his antiblack killings at an east Buffalo Tops grocery store in September of 1980. 14-year-old Glenn Dunn was executed in the supermarket parking lot and left to die. The White Supremacist psychopath would kill two additional black males (Harold Green, Emmanuel Thomas) in the next 24 hours. Multiple witnesses failed to identify the White suspect to enforcement officers. Some of the officers believed this was willful omission to protect a White murder suspect. The Context of White Supremacy (C.O.W.S.) Radio Program welcomes Dr. Daniel Livesay. A scholar of Early American and Atlantic History, Dr. Livesay is an associate professor of history and the history department chair at Claremont McKenna College in California. A C.O.W.S. listener mentioned his book, Children of Uncertain Fortune: Mixed-Race Jamaicans in Britain and the Atlantic Family, 1733-1833. This book examines White attitudes about Racial Classifications and sexual activity between Whites and non-whites in "colonial" Jamaica and Britain. Gus felt disjointed discussing this subject matter in the midst of the White Terrorist violence in Buffalo. However, Payton Gendron's concerns about White Genetic Annihilation are on every page of Dr. Livesay's book. In fact, some Whites were motivated to end the "slave trade" phase of White Supremacy because of their fears of 'negro domination" of the small population of Whites. Christopher began killing black males in Buffalo and the New York area at large, Payton S. Gendron drove 200 miles, and invested months of time planning to murder as many black people as possible. He shot 13 people, killing 10 black victims. He was taken into custody without incident and may be charged with "hate crimes." NY lawmakers are pondering resurrecting the death penalty as a result of this White massacre. Also this week, a White man in Georgia was charged with felony hate crimes for shooting at numerous retail stores where black people work and shop. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. Many across the country and world have been captivated by the White Terrorist attack in Buffalo, New York. Gus recommends not discussing this incident with co-workers - White or non-white. Say that it's tragic but you've not kept up with the details. Or simply state: you don't discuss politics on the job. Racist may try to goad non-white people into disclosing our thoughts while in the workplace. This never benefits non-white workers. Also, a number of the thirteen victims at the Buffalo Tops supermarket were "on the clock." We'll remind non-white workers to be vigilant about the people in your work environment. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the premier study session on Catherine Pelonero's 2017 publication, Absolute Madness: A True Story of a Serial Killer, Race, and a City Divided. The country is focused on Payton S. Gendron White Terrorist attack in Buffalo, New York. Gendron allegedly planned to murder as many black people as possible before carrying out an antiblack slaughter with 13 people shot, and ten deaths. 11 of the 13 Victims were black. Many people are comparing this event to Dylann Storm Roof, the convicted White Supremacist killer who murdered 9 people at a black South Carolina church in 2015. However, Buffalo, New York has it's own history of White Supremacist violence. Joseph G. Christopher, a White Man, was convicted of killing a number of black males - and evidence linked him to the murders of approximately a dozen murdered black males and boys. Pelonero's work examines the serial killings and the impact on Buffalo and New York state at large. So far, Gus has not heard any media outlets compare Gendron's Racist carnage to Christopher's rampage from 40 years past. Amazingly, the first murder in the 1980 slayings took place outside an east Buffalo Tops supermarket. The Context of White Supremacy (C.O.W.S.) Radio Program welcomes Gerald Van Dusen. A professor of English at Wayne County Community College District in Detroit, Michigan, Van Dusen's scholarly interests include American literature and culture and local history, as well as digital technology applications in higher education. Gus hoped to discuss his more recent book on White Supremacy and housing, Detroit’s Birwood Wall: Hatred & Healing in the West Eight Mile Community. However, Van Dusen has written more than one book, and Gus was careless when nabbing literature. I mistakenly grabbed Detroit’s Sojourner Truth Housing Riot of 1942: Prelude to the Race Riot of 1943. This book is set during World War II and the great migration. The Religion of White Supremacy was way more important than an "all hands on deck attitude" to neutralize Nazi Germany and Adolph Hitler. We will make certain to relate these events to this weekend's carnage in Buffalo, New York. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the monthly Global Sunday Talk on Racism. This broadcast is intended to encourage participation from non-white people in different parts of the world and Victims of Racism who are not able to join during the normal broadcast time. Payton Gendron Jr.'s White Supremacist attack in Buffalo terminated 10 lives - almost all of them black. Gendron is alleged to have been influenced by the White Supremacist mass killer in New Zealand, Brenton Tarrant, who also live streamed his rampage in 2019. We'll investigate what the international press has to say about this event and consider if we should expect more direct antiblack violence - motivated by White Genetic Annihilation. We contrasted the coverage of this event with the attention directed on Roe v. Wade and (White) Women's reproductive rights. Gus emphasized the significance of Joseph G. Christopher, a White convict who targeted and killed nearly a dozen black and non-white males in Buffalo and New York City. Enforcement officers suspected that Christopher may have killed two black male cab drivers and extracted their hearts. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was the Victim of a "hate crime," where the perpetrator was allegedly enraged about the mayor's tepid response to gun violence. On the very day of this program, a White gunman was taken into custody after allegedly killing ten people at a Buffalo, New York supermarket. New York Governor Kathy Hochul branded 18-year-old Payton Gendron a White Supremacist and his act of carnage "terrorism." The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. We hoped to have Rice University Professor Danielle D. King with us earlier this week to share tips and insights on for black employees. Alas, like so many job-seekers with "black sounding names," we never heard back from Professor King. Incidentally, we'll discuss her idea of "Perceived Organizational Support." Gus concludes that non-white people will generally have little to no assistance or support your co-workers. If you find yourself in the inviable position where your employer and colleagues appreciate your feedback and earnestly work to remedy your workplace problems, you're in a cozy but rare position for black people. Enjoy it as long as possible. Professor King and others also promote the idea of talking about "microaggressions" with other co-workers. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 9th study session on Essie Mae Washington-Williams' Dear Senator: A Memoir by the Daughter of J. Strom Thurmond. This is our concluding session on this book, and it absolutely qualifies as the saddest book Gus has read. Essie Mae's confusion and father hunger for a child raping White Supremacist is... a sorrow-filled existence. Additionally, the lynchings and gender-specific targeting of black males are such traumatic, constant events in Essie Mae's life, readers can mark time by tracking black male corpses. Last week, Essie Mae described moving out to the "racial paradise" of California. By the time she arrives west, her husband Julius is dead at at the age of 46. He had asthma and self-medicated with alcohol to compensate for the constant White Terrorism he experienced - including being bludgeoned by enforcement officers. Essie Mae returned to southern California a widow and settled in View Park, known as the "black Beverly Hills." Ms. Essie Mae neglected to inform readers that View Park began as a subdivision that excluded anyone not White. A small number of dark people were allowed to purchase housing in the area in the 1960's. Whites quickly exited. By the early 20th century, Whites began returning to "gentrify" the "black Beverly Hills." After Julius's death, Essie Mae decides to tell her children about their real grandpa. They alternate between being bored about their White ancestry and logically describing him as a raping White Supremacist who terrorized their grandmother, Carrie Butler. They got meet him in person, and conclude that he's "not too bad." Julius was denied the chance to share his view of Strom Thurmond with his own children. Many listens and our narrator have remarked about Essie Mae "delusional" talking points on her father and Racism in general.
