The legions of activists who've joined "Black Lives Matter" have increasingly called on presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton to acknowledge Racism. The 50 year anniversary of the Watts unrest provided another chance for Whites to maintain that there has been immense progress in "race relations." The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 8th study session on Stephen Kantrowitz's, Ben Tillman And The Reconstruction of White Supremacy. Benjamin "Pitchfork" Tillman is one of South Carolina's most beloved sons. He's a former governor, US senator, co-founder of Clemson University and Winthrop University, and a shameless antiblack terrorist. He reminisced about his collusion in the murder and torture of black citizens and inspired White Supremacist legal codes across the country. The June 17th Terrorist attack on Mother Emanuel A.M.E. placed enormous scrutiny on Racism in South Carolina. Mr. Kantrowitz is aware that we're reading his biography and emailed Gus his most recent essay on Mr. Tillman. His assessment of Tillman's career as a South Carolina lawmaker is that, "Tillman bent over backwards to make sure his policies benefited as few African Americans as possible." This goes along way to explain why a few Confederate flags may be gone, but Tillman monuments still litter South Carolina. Last week's installment again emphasized the uncontrolled fraud and corruption that was characteristic of Tillman's reign and South Carolina politics. Much of this criminal activity was motivated to conquer black voters and maintain political power for individuals like Tillman. This is the South Carolina heritage that gave birth to Dylann Roof. The storm missed New Orleans, but a poorly constructed levee system failed and left more than 80% of the city under water. White Terrorists seized the opportunity to kill black people - AC Thompson reported on this savagery with ProPublica and discussed the matter on The COWS in 2009. After decade, many black people have not recovered from one of the worst disasters in history. Dr. Frances Cress Welsing makes her 29th visit to The Context of White Supremacy. The 3rd generation physician, author, and psychiatrists was last with us the day after the Charleston, South Carolina massacre. In June, Dr. Welsing insisted that Dylann Roof was on a White Supremacist mission at Emanuel A.M.E. church. It's been nearly 60 days since the killings, and Dr. Welsing submits that just like the summer of 2015, this tragedy has receded abruptly. Racists have redirected our focus to allegations against Bill Cosby and the latest Donald Trump performance. Many black people have admitted to feeling depressed, overwhelmed and unable to cope with avalanche of abuses targeting black people. Dr. Welsing insists that #BlackSelfRespect produces the courage needed to remain steadfast, dedicated to scientific opposition to Racism. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS August 2015 marks the 50-year anniversary of the Watts disturbances of 1965, the 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the breach of the levees, and one year since the shooting death of Ferguson's Michael Brown Jr. The LAPD terrorism that fueled the Watts conflagration was on display again this week; former detective Frank Lyga has petitioned the court to rejoin the force after being terminated for making racist remarks. Black Louisiana residents have yet to completely recover from the devastation. Things are similarly less than ideal a year later in Ferguson. The manslaughter trial for the 2013 shooting death of Jonathan Ferrell opened this week. Ferrell was described as a weed smoking "zombie" who would not comply with the White officers' commands. DailyKOS reported that, "He was first shot four times, then began to crawl and cry in pain, in which he was shot six more times while crawling, then two more times after he stopped." One of listeners' all time favorites, Pam is the co-author of phenomenal counter-racist material including: The Interracial Con Game and Black Love Is A Revolutionary Act. She maintains the RacismWS blog and has provided a wealth of constructive suggestions and observations over the years. Pam requested a chance to discuss tactics for speaking with young people about Racism. The atrocious summer of 2015 has been a concentrated dose of black suffering. The Charleston, South Carolina terrorist attack, never-ending "police" terrorism, and general White thuggery have traumatized black people across the globe. A bevy of black youth have been courageous participants in a myriad of counter-racist offensives. We'll exchange views on how to discuss these events with younger victims and why it's imperative that black parents talk about the war being waged against us truthfully. He discouraged lifetime presidents and scolded African nation's record on human rights, which is ironic considering much of this week's US media focused on the shooting death of Samuel DuBose. Suspected Race Soldier Ray Tensing has been indicted for DuBose's murder and has subsequently been released after posting a $1 million bond. Two White officers who corroborated Tensing's initial - and false - account will not be punished. Crowdfunding sites soliciting donations for Tensing's have allegedly been shutdown. In the wake of suspicious death of Sandra Bland, black and non-white females continue to die under peculiar circumstances in police custody. The most recent names include: Ralkina Jones, Sarah Lee Circle Bear and Raynette Turner. Violence and intimidation of Black citizens remained a constant activity; and Gov. Tillman was proud of his contribution to the carnage. Whites have spotlighted a White female inmate who purports to have comforted "Sandy B" in prison; she also supports with the cause of death being suicide. It's also been reported that Bland had large quantities of cannabis in her system. While black folks are criminalized for breathing, another White man went on a shooting spree, this time in Louisiana where four people were killed. As Whites slaughter and black people die en route to and in the confines of jail, President Obama made what could be his final visit to the continent as commander and chief. Africans have already announced their concerns about being propagandized with lectures on Gay Rights. And in the midst of all our summer fun, an American icon has been humiliated.
