The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly council on neutralizing Workplace Racism. This program is specifically constructed to refurbish non-white people's problem-solving ability and refine how black people think, speak, act and manage emotions while at work. Any listeners who've figured out the best method to reduce conflicts with White and/or non-white co-workers, sidestep demotions, write-ups, terminations or other forms of violence we experience in Racist work environments should be first to call in with details. We always value hearing the perspectives of "black entrepreneurs;" please, share with us how being "self employed" makes better your labor experience. We'll also re-visit what stops us from implementing our counter-racist codification on the job. More often than not, failure to apply codification leads to easily avoidable trouble. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We'll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS Days after Whites around the planet faked veneration for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s philosophy of non-violence and loving the Racism out of Whites, President Donald J. Trump joined an international White posse including Britain and France in launching a military attack in Syria. The New York Times described the violent offensive as effort to "show Western (White) resolve." Speaking of brute White force, a black 14-year-old Michigan teen was nearly killed by a White man for missing the school bus. Brennan Walker knocked on retired firefighter Jeffrey Ziegler's door in hopes of getting directions to his school. Ziegler's wife allegedly accused the black teen of breaking into the house, and the former fireman grabbed a shotgun and began shooting at Walker. The teen was uninjured, and Ziegler was arrested and charged with attempted murder. In other court news, disgraced entertainment legend Bill Cosby began his retrial facing charges of sexual misconduct. Mimicking the dismantling of Cosby's reputation, Whites also invested a substantial chunk of the week besmirching the life and times of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, who died last week at the age of 81. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the sixth study session on Angie Thomas's historically popular young adult novel, The Hate U Give. Reportedly inspired by the 2009 police killing of Oscar Grant, Thomas's work "debuted at the top of The New York Timesâ??s Young Adult best-seller list, and has drawn ecstatic praise from critics, librarians, book sellers and prominent young-adult novelists," says The Times's Alexandra Alter. After more than a year, The Hate U Give remains affixed to The Times's bestseller list and is being formatted for a major motion picture starring The Hunger Games's Amandla Stenberg. Last week's session offered another healthy heap of anti-blackness. Starr's father Maverick, allegedly Thomas's favorited character, finally became aware that his daughter is in an "interracial relationship" with a White boy. Minutes after meeting Starr's father for the first time, Chris begins holding hands with and kissing Starr. The White boy is awarded points for continuing to grip Starr's hand even when her father enters the room. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, attempted counter-racist soldier and former wife of South African president Nelson Mandela, died this week at the age of 81. "She refused to be bowed by the imprisonment of her husband, the perpetual harassment of her family by security forces, detentions, bannings and banishment," said fellow South African Bishop Desmond Tutu. On the other side of the globe, Whites used the week to feign admiration for the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was assassinated 50 years ago this week. The week also marked a half century since Black Panther Party member Bobby Hutton was gunned down by California police. Demonstrating a pitiful continuity, protests over the police killing of an unarmed black male, Stephon Clark, continue to roil California's state capitol. Speaking of dangerous black people, former Hollywood darling Bill Cosby returned to a Pennsylvania court this week for the start of a second trial to decide whether he's guilty of sexual misconduct. Allegedly authored in response to the 2009 police killing of Oscar Grant, Thomas's work "debuted at the top of The New York Times's Young Adult best-seller list, and has drawn ecstatic praise from critics, librarians, book sellers and prominent young-adult novelists," writes The Times's Alexandra Alter. After more than 55 weeks, The Hate U Give remains cemented on The Times's bestseller list and is being formatted for a major motion picture starring The Hunger Games's Amandla Stenberg. Last week's session offered another healthy heap of anti-blackness. Starr fawns over her White boyfriend Chris, while simultaneously announcing her sexual attraction to her White female classmate, Jess. Starr's father Maverick, the character Thomas describes as her favorite, continues to be undermined. A black police officer forces him on the ground in front of his children, and his wife hints that she might have plans to relocate the children without his consent. Between junk food and calls to "black jesus," readers are bludgeoned with stories of black death and pathology. The Context of White Supremacy Satya X. A former New York City dweller, Satya X felt "drained by racist ideology hovering over US culture." She traded in her high heels for sandals and expatriated to Costa Rica, where her pan-afriakn beliefs and spiritual journey blossomed. She founded Women of Color Healing Retreats so that black females around the world could experience the spiritual nourishment that frequently eludes black people. We'll ask how she uses her yoga practice to help counter-racism. We'll also ask how practicing without the presence of Whites impacts the the yoga experience. Speaking of black death, there were protests and hashtag activism in Sacramento and beyond in the name of Stephon Clark, one of the more recent victim of police terrorism. Reportedly penned in response to the 2009 police killing of Oscar Grant, Thomas's work "debuted at the top of The New York Timesâ??s Young Adult best-seller list, and has drawn ecstatic praise from critics, librarians, book sellers and prominent young-adult novelists," says The Times's Alexandra Alter. After a year, The Hate U Give remains cemented on The Times's bestseller list and is being converted to a major motion picture starring The Hunger Games's Amandla Stenberg. Last week's session detailed an especially tacky scene: Khalil's funeral. During this moment, readers are informed that Starr's father Maverick cheated on her mother and sired a child with a sex worker. Gang members disrupt the proceedings and a near brawl erupts near the casket. In between commentary on the drug-selling, fried-chicken-eating black people, Starr continues to rave about her flawless White boyfriend, Chris.
